TANGERANG, BANTEN — Appreciation for freedom fighters is rolling again in 2023. On the momentum of the 78th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, Lembaga Pelayan Masyarakat (LPM) Dompet Dhuafa or the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Institute provided assistance in the form of Nutrition Packages and compensation for Veteran. On Sunday (8/20/2023), the distribution was carried out at the Veterans Legion Office of the Republic of Indonesia (LVRI), Tangerang and Serang Branch.
Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa, M Noor Awaluddin Asjhar said that the handover of direct assistance in the form of Nutrition Packages and cash was a form of gratitude and appreciation for the services of fighters and defenders of Indonesian independence.
“This activity is a form of respect for historical actors. It is appropriate for all of us to remain concerned about the lives of Veterans. Hopefully this assistance is useful, it can raise new enthusiasm and hope for them,” said Awal.

Chairman of LVRI Tangerang, Kasbilal (77) proudly welcomed this activity.
“I really appreciate and thank you very much for the appreciation from Dompet Dhuafa. Alhamdulillah, there are still those who care about the services of their parents who fought for independence. This is like a field of reward for all and of course it must be sincere,” he said.
Kasbilal himself was a Veteran Defender of Independence after the proclamation period. His father and brother have passed away because they fought to maintain independence since he was 3 years old, so his determination is very strong to be directly involved in maintaining the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). For him, freedom must be felt by all people in all aspects of life and must be sovereign.

Kasbilal advised today’s young people to continue the Indonesian nation as heirs to independence. Young people are obliged and must be responsible for maintaining independence today, making a fair and prosperous society in all aspects of life.
