Lampung Selatan: The Dompet Dhuafa Action Collaboration and the Lampung University Student Association (UNILA) distributed 25 school kit packages for children who were flood survivors in South Lampung, in Banyumas Village, Candipuro District, South Lampung, on Thursday (08/12/2022).
The local Village Head, Syaiun, welcomed this program. “Thank you for the visit and aid from Dompet Dhuafa Lampung and the younger students. This is beneficial for our children. We hope our friendship will bless all of us,” he said.
The school kit, which contains school bags, notebooks, writing utensils, pencil cases, and colored pencils, is aimed at elementary school children from grades 1 to 6 who were affected by the Lampung floods. It is known that several student houses were also submerged in water in the South Lampung Flood tragedy at the end of October 2022.
As many as 16 student associations from UNILA and the participating communities included: Architectural Engineering Hima, Civil Engineering Hima, Fossi-FT, Mechanical Engineering Hima, Electrical Engineering Hima, Geodetic Engineering Hima, Bhuwana Geophysics Engineering Hima, BEM FT, DPM, Gamatala, Student Association Agronomy & Horticulture, BEM FMIPA UNILA, Food Room, Nuwo Karya, and Muslimah Khansa Community.
Not only distributing Aid, UNILA students and several Lampung communities also entertained and added to the joy of the children by providing games, ice breaking, and disseminating door prizes as a form of trauma healing for flood survivors.
Local village children from MI Tasik, MI Sukamaju, and SDN Banyumas South Lampung looked cheerful and enthusiastic about participating in the series of School Kit Donation Distribution activities.
Yogi Achmad Fajar, Leader of Dompet Dhuafa Lampung, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the student associations and several communities involved in this activity.
“Thank you for the concern from the combined friends of the Unila student association and the community of good partners of Dompet Dhuafa Lampung for caring for others. May Allah Azza wa Jalla always accompanies and facilitates our every step in doing good,” he said. (ddlpg)
