YOGYAKARTA CITY, DIY —–— One positive thing we can see from the momentum of the holy month of Ramadan is how everyone is competing to do good deeds. Whether personally or communally, as long as it has a positive impact on the surrounding environment, especially those in need, insha Allah it will bring blessings to everyone.
PT Avo Innovation Technology, one of Indonesia’s leading companies in the cosmetics and beauty industry under the brand name “Avoskin,” sets a concrete example for us all by launching a social media campaign from April 19–21, 2022. Titled #SmallSteptoShare, Avoskin invited the entire community to share by simply commenting and liking Avoskin’s Instagram posts. Each comment would be converted into one food package to be distributed to those in need.
In its implementation, Avoskin collaborated with Dompet Dhaufa as a partner to distribute food packages for breaking the fast. After being collected, a total of 300 iftar meal packages were distributed in the Sentolo District, Kulon Progo, and Patuk District, Gunung Kidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta, on Saturday–Sunday (April 23–24, 2022).
“This activity was initiated by the good intentions of Avoskin and Dompet Dhuafa to share with our brothers and sisters in need during the holy month of Ramadan by taking an active role. In this campaign, Avoskin and Dompet Dhuafa also invited the wider community to share in a very easy way,” said Dian Sukma Riany, Strategic Corporate Partnership Dompet Dhuafa.
The first location was in Sentolo District, Kulon Progo, Special Region of Yogyakarta, where most of the beneficiaries were farmers and ranchers who were under the guidance of Dompet Dhuafa Jogja. The following day, the team continued to distribute hundreds of iftar food packages in Patuk District, Gunung Kidul, Special Region of Yogyakarta. This time, the beneficiaries were participants in the da’wah program run by Dompet Dhuafa Jogja.
The distribution took place at a mosque that often serves as a gathering place for the local community, accompanied by a joint iftar and religious recitation. This was aimed at strengthening ties and allowing the community to get to know Dompet Dhuafa’s donors, in this case Avoskin. Of course, by holding this event, all parties hoped to receive blessings and #BecomeBeneficial to the surrounding community.
Dompet Dhuafa greatly appreciates Avoskin’s kind gesture, which has inspired a spirit of sharing among fellow human beings. In addition, the trust that Avoskin has placed in Dompet Dhuafa is proof of its commitment to continue safeguarding its mandate as the most important asset in the institution’s values.
