JAKARTA — A hearse unit parked in the courtyard of Al Furqon Mosque, Galaxy Park, Bekasi City on Wednesday (17/5/2023). That afternoon, the Hajj Financial Management Agency or Badan Pengelola Keuangan Haji (BPKH) through Dompet Dhuafa handed over the hearse symbolically to Amrizal, Chairman of the Management Board of the Al-Furqon Taman Galaxy Mosque Foundation, Bekasi from the Welfare Program.
The symbolic handover of the hearse was carried out in a hybrid manner, in the hall of Al-Furqon Mosque and also through Zoom Cloud Meeting. Even though it was carried out in a hybrid manner, the handover still went solemnly and smoothly. General Manager (GM) of ZIS Association Dompet Dhuafa said this ambulance car is available thanks to a collaboration with BPKH through the Welfare Program. Dompet Dhuafa has collaborated with BPKH in distributing various benefit programs, including procuring this hearse.
“Alhamdulillah, officially, we from Dompet Dhuafa, representing BPKH RI, want to hand over the entrustment or trust from BPKH to be rolled out by the Bekasi Al-Furqon Mosque Foundation, so the benefit fund is in the form of a hearse. Herewith we hand over the car. God willing, it can be used well and is very useful for the surrounding community, so that the benefit funds from BPKH RI can be more pronounced, “said Faqih.
Al-Furqon Bekasi Mosque Foundation also welcomed this famous program. Amrizal said this assistance can support the funeral procession, especially for the people of South Bekasi.
“We would like to thank BPKH and Dompet Dhuafa, this foundation is synonymous with Dompet Dhuafa which we also know its activity is empowering people. Therefore, we hope that in its operations it is in accordance with the mandate given and we will continue to care and maintain so that we not only become mustahik but muzaki, “said Amrizal.
On this occasion, Indriayu Afriana, Head of the Implementation and Monitoring Division of BPKH RI Welfare Evaluation, said that ambulance and hearse services (layanan ambulance dan mobil jenazah) come from the people’s endowment fund managed by BPKH RI based on sharia principles, prudential principles, non-profit, and beneficial values with its management based on Law 34 of 2014.

This program fund is separate from the initial deposit of Hajj funds amounting to Rp167 trillion which is used for the benefit of pilgrims. Meanwhile, the Welfare Program utilizes the Dana Abadi Umat (DAU) which is approximately Rp3.8 trillion and is used for the needs of the people.
“From this mandate according to the Constitution, we return it to Muslims throughout Indonesia as a Welfare Fund. This benefit activity has 6 scopes, today is clear evidence of how BPKH distributes the value of benefits and people’s endowment funds, with a socio-religious scope by providing hearses for the community, especially in the Bekasi area, “said Indriyana.
Dompet Dhuafa as an institution that cares about the people’s interests also contributes to this benefit program. In addition to handing over a hearse, Dompet Dhuafa through the Badan Pemulasaran Jenazah (Barzah) under the auspices of Lembaga Pelayan Masyarakat (LPM), will also assist in the initiation of corpse advice.
