Strengthening Health Services in NTT, Dompet Dhuafa together with BRILiaN Establish Border Health Post

BELU, NTT — Dompet Dhuafa East Nusa Tenggara (Indonesia: Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT)) together with the Baitul Mal Foundation (Indonesian: Yayasan Baitul Mal (YBM)) BRILiaN inaugurated the Border Health Post or Pos Kesehatan Perbatasan on Saturday (11/03/2023). Previously, the post was the Aitaman Posyandu Building which was later revitalized into a Border Health Post.

This activity is part of Dompet Dhuafa NTT’s collaboration program with YBM BRILiaN which aims to strengthen border community health services in Manleten Village, East Tasifeto District, Belu. This program is a form of concern for Dompet Dhuafa and YBM BRILiaN for the border area as well as a form of love for the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).

The location where this Border Health Post stands, namely Manleten Village, is one of the areas prepared by the Belu Regency government as a settlement for migrant communities from East Timor. As is known, NTT is an Indonesian territory directly adjacent to the country of East Timor, located in the East Tasifeto District, Belu.

“On behalf of the institutions and beneficiaries in East Nusa Tenggara, hopefully today’s activity will be useful for hundreds of people in Manleten Village. Today citizens get a free examination service. Hopefully, this collaboration will continue in the future, ” said Sriyati, Head of the Dompet Dhuafa NTT Branch when interviewed.

In his remarks, Prof. Amin Suma, chairman of the Sharia Supervisory Board of YBM BRILiaN also expressed his support for health programs in border areas. He also asked for support from all parties to make this program more developed and sustainable.

Meanwhile, according to dr. Yeni Purnamasari, General Manager (GM) of Dompet Dhuafa Health, the Border Health Post was established with the aim of reducing stunting rates in Belu Regency, NTT.

“With the presence of health programs in Manleten Village, hopefully it can strengthen the stunting reduction program in Indonesia, especially in the Belu Regency and East Nusa Tenggara.  Border communities are part of Indonesia that we must both improve their services,” said dr Yeni Purnamasari.

Egidius Nurak, Assistant III for Local Government Administration of Belu Regency appreciated the presence of health programs there. He also expressed his gratitude and gratitude for the support and dedication of Dompet Dhuafa, especially in the health sector.

“Now this Aitaman Posyandu is the best posyandu in the Belu Regency area. Of course, we feel grateful and grateful to YBM BRILiaN and Dompet Dhuafa for their support. Hopefully, it will follow to other Posyandu,” said Edigius.

After the opening ceremony, all participants were guided by Midwife Nani, the midwife of the local posyandu to see the conditions and facilities inside the posyandu. Emotion and happiness were mixed in his face, because after so many years of serving there, now there is access to electricity, so it becomes brighter and more comfortable when doing service.
