BANTEN — As an effort to improve the quality of a healthy environment and the availability of clean water, Dompet Dhuafa rolled out assistance through Program Air Untuk Kehidupan (AUK) or the Water For Life Program to Pesantren Madarijul Ulum Al Utsmani in Kp. Bobul, Kemuning Village, Waringinkurung, Serang District.
Initiated since Ramadan 1444 H, at the beginning of Zul-Hijah 1444 H, the procurement of clean water facilities has been completed. Until Wednesday (21/6/2023), Program Air Untuk Kehidupan at Pesantren Madarijul Ulum Al Utsmani has been officially used, which is then the mandate is handed over to the school. The symbolization of the inauguration was marked by a ribbon cutting in front of the bathroom building.
Attending the inauguration and handover ceremony, Herman Budianto as General Manager of Da’wah, Culture and Environment of Dompet Dhuafa; Zamaksyari as Program Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Banten; KH Saidul A’la as Caretaker of Pesantren Madarijul Ulum Al Utsmani; Mafroh as Chairman of the Pesantren Management; Syarifuddin as Secretary of the Pesantren Management; local community leaders and dozens of students who lived there.

To Dompet Dhuafa, this caretaker of Pesantren Kobongan said, this school has been established since 2004 with only a few students at first. From year to year, more and more children are interested in studying Islamic religion in this school. Until now, the resident students have numbered around 60 students with around 200 alumni.
The daily activities of the students are reciting books from morning to Zuhr time. After that, they learn general subjects material until Asr time. Then the Quran recitation is continued again at night. As for obtaining a formal diploma, the school always holds equivalence classes to Kejar Paket B and Kejar Paket C every Friday.
“The benchmark for the graduation of the students here is when they khatam (finish) reading the school’s basic books. Among them are Ajurumiyah, Imrithi, Alfiyah, and so on,” said Kiai Said.
The existence of Program Air Untuk Kehidupan from Dompet Dhuafa becomes a new spirit for kobong students to continue to gain religious knowledge taught by their asatiz. The water that flows is so clean, so that it can also be consumed as a means of cooking and drinking. Like other classical salaf schools, in this school, the students do the cooking and cleaning activities by themselves.
“We’d like to thank the donors of Dompet Dhuafa who have entrusted us, giving some of their property as a mandate, that is to build clean water facilities for students and local residents. This trust, in syaa Allah, we’ll continue to maintain and take care of it. We will also use this facility for religious activities for local residents,” said Syarifuddin in his speech.
Meanwhile, Herman explained that Dompet Dhuafa hopes that this program can be useful and can also be felt by the donors. Then it can also be beneficial in the long run, so that other virtues that arise will continue to flow to anyone involved in the program.

“We hope that the rewards of kindness continue to flow and be felt even greater by donors and all parties involved in this program. So it needs good management by all of us so that this will be what we all expect,” he said.
In full, the Water For Life Program (Program Air Untuk Kehidupan) in the form of clean water facilities is a set, including a borehole unit, water storage toren, sanitation building covering an area of 5×10 meters with 3 bathrooms along with ablution and washing places, pipe installations, to electrical installations.
