LEBAK, BANTEN —-— Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world. This statement is very true when we consider how important education is in producing outstanding generations who will advance the nation. However, inadequate facilities and infrastructure, as well as limited school equipment for students, are obstacles to achieving this dream.
Despite this, the spirit of the nation’s future generation remains unbroken. They continue to pursue their dreams for the future with enthusiasm, despite all the limitations they face. PT Legalitas Indo Utama seems to have recognized the spirit of these children and decided to support them by donating school kits through Dompet Dhuafa.
On this occasion, Pamundayan Village, Mekarjaya Village, Cijaku Subdistrict, Lebak Regency, Banten, was the destination for the distribution carried out by Dompet Dhuafa Banten as the implementing agency. A total of 140 students from Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah Pamundayan and Madrasah Diniyah Mathlaul Anwar were the beneficiaries of the School Kit distribution donated by PT Legalitas Indo Utama on Friday (May 13, 2022).
This distribution activity also attracted enthusiasm from the surrounding community because the donations provided by PT Legalitas Indo Utama and Dompet Dhuafa greatly helped reduce the educational burden on their children who are currently attending school. The majority of the community, who work as farmers, are unable to meet their daily needs, especially school supplies for their children.
Not only bringing happiness through the distribution of School Kits to students, the collaboration between PT Legalitas Indo Utama and Dompet Dhuafa distributed 250 lunch packages to parents who accompanied their children to receive School Kit donations. The food provided was also the result of community empowerment to revive the MSME-based economy.
Mokhlas Pidono, Head of Dompet Dhuafa Banten, who was present at the event, emphasized his commitment to continue supporting educational progress, especially in Banten Province. As the son of a teacher, he sincerely hopes that this assistance can spark educational improvement in Banten Province. Mokhlas was even moved to tears when recounting his struggles in pursuing education and motivating students to be enthusiastic about seeking knowledge.
“Seeing this activity reminds me of my journey from being a village child like the children here to where I am today. Dompet Dhuafa will continue to be committed to promoting education, especially in Banten Province. We sincerely hope that a generation will emerge that is capable of advancing the life of the nation from Mekarjaya Village,” said Mokhlas emotionally.
In addition, Kamaluddin, Senior Officer of Social Services at Dompet Dhuafa, explained that Dompet Dhuafa greatly appreciates what PT Legalitas Indo Utama has done in this collaborative act of kindness. “Seeing so many children who have a high enthusiasm for learning despite their limitations, it is our collective duty to help each other for the sake of the future generation of our nation. PT Legalitas Indo Utama has set a concrete example of how to actively support the advancement of education in Indonesia,” he said.
