Synergy for 13 Years, Matahari Dept. Store Entrusts Customer Donations Again Through Dompet Dhuafa

JAKARTA – Establishing a collaboration of kindness together for 13 years, alhamdulillaah, in 2023, Matahari Dept. Store again entrusts its loyal customers to donate through Dompet Dhuafa. The donation in the form of Rp904,404,225, – was symbolized by a handover on Thursday (6/7/23), at Matahari Taman Anggrek, Tanjung Duren, West Jakarta. The donation is a part of the Customer Donation Program which has become Matahari’s annual routine activity. Through this Customer Donation, each customer will be able to contribute to helping the community, especially in reducing poverty, improving education, and improving the welfare of people in Indonesia. This program has been running from March 1, 2023 – May 31, 2023.

Through this program, Matahari managed to collect donations from customers amounting to Rp1,808,808,450, – which was then distributed through Yayasan Dompet Dhuafa Foundation (Rp904,404,225,-) and Yayasan Kanker Anak Indonesia (YKAI). As for Yayasan Dompet Dhuafa, Matahari customers’ donations will be used for programs that focus on Child Health such as Stunting Prevention, Maternal and Child Health Program, Healthy Indonesian Children Program, Healthy Youth Program, and Sanitation Improvement.

In accordance with Matahari’s ESG target to pay special attention to children, we are committed to creating an ecosystem where Indonesian children can grow up healthy and feel comfortable and secure about their future. We hope that this assistance can have an impact on the community at large and be able to improve their quality of life in the long term,” said Terry O’Connor, CEO of Matahari.

Etika Setiawanti as Director of Resource Mobilization of Dompet Dhuafa, who was present at the donation ceremony, also expressed her gratitude for this year’s health opportunity, so that the synergy of kindness with Matahari can also continue to run well from year to year.

The donation amount collected, of course, is also thanks to the dedication of the cashier team who work at each Matahari Dept. Store outlet. Therefore, Matahari also gives appreciation especially through the Donation Cashier Appreciation Program at the 3 highest outlets, they are Matahari Cibinong City Mall, Matahari CSB Mall Cirebon, and Matahari Mall Taman Anggrek West Jakarta. The three outlets with the highest donation collection received rewards for collecting and inviting customers to be at the forefront of this collaboration of kindness.
