AUSTRALIA — As in previous years, the Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa (Cordofa) again sent out its best Dai Ambassadors through the Dai Ambassador Program to preach abroad during the month of Ramadan. Dai Ambassadors were sent to dozens of destination countries, including Australia, France, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Noumea, East Timor, New Zealand, and so on.
In 2025, Cordofa sent 16 selected Dai Ambassadors from various provinces in Indonesia. Two of them were sent to the Australian Continent. They are Ustaz Muhammad Nur Khalim from Lamongan, East Java, and Ustaz Abdul Wahid Ritonga from Medan, South Sumatra.
Before being dispatched, the preachers had undergone five days of training at the Sofyan Tebet Hotel, South Jakarta. They were provided with various insights regarding international da’wah and matters related to Dompet Dhuafa, before proselytizing in their respective countries of assignment. After completing the training, the 16 Dai Ambassadors were then symbolically released by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Anis Matta, and the Initiator and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dompet Dhuafa, Parni Hadi.
Two Australian-assigned preachers became the first group to arrive in the country of assignment. They arrived at Sydney Airport on February 28, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Ustaz Khalim and Ustaz Wahid were greeted by Darmawan and Ferdi, two personnel from the Australian branch of Dompet Dhuafa. After being picked up, the two were then invited to tour Sydney, followed by Friday prayers at the Assunah Mosque located in Lacemba, Australia.

On their way to Australia, Ustaz Khalim and Ustaz Wahid accidentally met Dian, who was also on her way to Australia. She is the wife of one of the volunteers of Dompet Dhuafa Australia.
“Alhamdulillah, our trip to Australia was made easy by Allah. Starting from arranging visas, tickets, and others. Plus the meeting with Ms. Dian, which was Allah’s plan, so that Ustaz Wahid and I did not feel confused on our first trip to Australia,” said Ustaz Khalim.
Ustaz Khalim and Ustaz Wahid also hope that their arrival in Australia will bring happiness to Australian Muslims, especially the Indonesian diaspora in Australia. So that the longing for the atmosphere of Ramadan in Indonesia is alleviated. Both of them also hope that the da’wah activities that will be carried out during Ramadan 1446 H will run smoothly and receive blessings from Allah SWT. (Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa)
