JAKARTA — Director General of BIMAS Islam of Kemenag RI (Ministry of Religious Affairs of Republic of Indonesia) Prof.Dr.Phil. H. Kamaruddin Amin, M.A and Director of Human Rights & Humanity of Kemlu RI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia), Achsanul Habib attended the International Da’wah Outlook 2022 event at the Grand Whiz Poins Simatupang, Jakarta, on Friday (29/12/2022). Both of them gave appreciation to the 50 Dai Ambassadors who attended the event, who also had previously been assigned to 16 countries.
On his occasion, Kamaruddin Amin said that what Dompet Dhuafa had done (in international da’wah activities), in his opinion it was quite good. Even so, he advised not to be satisfied with what had been done. Of course, there still had to be solutive steps that were targeting not only at Muslims, but were actually increased slightly at any religious society around the world.

He really appreciated and thanked Dompet Dhuafa for initiating the Dai Ambassador program. According to him, as his experience visiting various countries, this program was very important because Indonesian people abroad did not get enough sources of religious information. Therefore, they needed to obtain religious information. This initiative had been carried out by Dompet Dhuafa.
“I really appreciate it. In the future, I will invite Dompet Dhuafa together with the government and also, perhaps, other institutions to have the same interest to be able to design it more systematically,” he said.
He also agreed that Indonesia did need to send its dais (Islamic religious lecturers) to understand the religion and also introduce Indonesian Islam abroad. The dais must be able to explain this model of articulation or practice of Islam in Indonesia, that is, how Islam is applied in Indonesia is appropriate and worthy to be an example of articulation of religious practice in other countries. Because Indonesian Islam is an Islam that is tolerant, peaceful, compatible in democracy, respects differences, and so on.
“This is a very good example and it is also needed to introduce that Islam is in accordance with the demands of modernity, Islam is in accordance with civilization,” he said.
On the same occasion, virtually, Achsanul Habib said that this dai ambassador had an important role as a humanitarian ambassador for Indonesia towards world peace. In the country, Indonesia, the existence of dai has an important role. Not only as an actor of religion, but also as an actor or ambassador of humanity. Through da’wah, a dai calls for the values of kindness and humanity. Their activities also have social activities such as humanitarian assistance.
“On one hand, a dai is an actor who has an affinity for the society and has a comprehensive understanding of the structure of customs and customs of the surrounding community,” he said.

He hopes that Dai Ambassador Dompet Dhuafa will become a strategic partner for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Indonesia in increasing Indonesia’s active role in conducting global humanitarian diplomacy.
“There is a major point that we expect as reference material for the dais. That is, every religious action must stick to the principles of humanity, namely social, neutrality, impartiality, and independence,” he added. (Dompet Dhuafa / Muthohar)
