JAKARTA – Barudak Alumni Unpad Football Club (BALAD FC) has entered its third year since this association was founded on February 19, 2020. To hold its third anniversary, BALAD FC held a charity match attended by all its members on Wednesday (1/3/2023) at the Police Science College Stadium (PTIK), South Jakarta.
After the matches ended with the referee’s long whistle, all members of BALAD FC gathered to hand over the donations collected symbolically to Dompet Dhuafa. BALAD FC Senior Tito Setiawan handed over a humanitarian donation of Rp15,000,000 (fifteen million rupiahs) to the Head of the Disaster Management Center (DMC) of Dompet Dhuafa Arif Rahmadi Haryono.
Tito said BALAD FC, as one of the UNPAD alum forums, has actively held charity matches with Dompet Dhuafa several times. Like this time, in commemoration of the third anniversary, in addition to sports activities, BALAD FC members also collect donations for our brothers and sisters who were hit by the earthquake in Cianjur. This donation will later be focused on educational programs for Cianjur children.
“We distribute this donation through Dompet Dhuafa, which will later be distributed to brothers and sisters in Cianjur. Hopefully, the donations collected can help the brothers and sisters there,” he said.
Responding to this, Arif Haryono said that until now, the Dompet Dhuafa team is still rolling out various responses and efforts for the people of Cianjur. Some activities ranged from building soup kitchens, distributing logistics, setting up refugee tents and places of worship, providing health services, and cheerful schools, to building MCK and houses for residents.
One of the things that are of deep concern to Dompet Dhuafa is the provision of educational facilities for affected children. The destruction of schools and educational institutions does not make children stagnate in the spirit of learning. Community concern must facilitate and support this spirit through educators and physical facilities.
