BOGOR, WEST JAVA — On Friday (August 19, 2022), Dompet Dhuafa, through its Community Service Agency (LPM) team, distributed 40 parcels of donations from Tokopedia to orphans and the poor in the area of Al Barokah Mosque, Kampung Legok Nyenang, RT 02/RW 10, Pancawati Village, Caringin Sub-district, Bogor Regency. The assistance was entrusted by donors of Tokopedia, collected through the ‘Ramadan In Style Tokopedia’ campaign during the month of Ramadan 1443 H.
From the collection, Tokopedia distributed donations totaling Rp305,587,616 (three hundred five million, five hundred eighty-seven thousand, six hundred sixteen rupiah) to Dompet Dhuafa. The donation was distributed in the form of 920 parcels for orphans and the underprivileged. Containing basic necessities and various products, the distribution of the packages was spread across the regions of Jabodetabek, Central Java, West Java, East Java, Yogyakarta, Banten, Lampung, and North Sumatra.
This is not the first time that Dompet Dhuafa has received a mandate and collaborated with Tokopedia, this time through the Ramadan In Style campaign program. The donations from Tokopedia donors are distributed during the month of Muharram, a time of compassion for orphans, with distributions taking place on the 10th of Muharram, starting from August 8th, and continuing until August 20th, 2022,” explained Hasairi Arnas, Digital Strategic Partnership Officer at Dompet Dhuafa.
One of the beneficiaries, Fadil (9), looked cheerful as he gathered at the Al Barokah Mosque that afternoon. The math enthusiast said that he lives with his grandmother, father, and younger sibling.
“Actually, I have two younger siblings. But the last one passed away at birth, along with my mother. It was just last Ramadan, Kak,” Fadil said, speaking with resilience.
“This package is so big, Kak. It’s heavy to carry. Thank you so much,” he added, innocently.
On the day of the distribution, the Village Head, the Head of RT 02, local religious leaders, and dozens of residents of Kampung Legok Nyenang were present. During the distribution, Dani, the Village Head, expressed his appreciation and hopes for the assistance provided to the residents of Kampung Legok Nyenang.
