Track Record of Kindness, LKC Dompet Dhuafa NTB Holds Post-Flood Health Service Action

WEST LOMBOK, NTB — Dompet Dhuafa through the Disaster Management Center (DMC) and Respons Darurat Kesehatan or RDK (Health Emergency Response) of Layanan Kesehatan Cuma-Cuma (LKC) Nusa Tenggara Barat (NTB) held a medical service action for flood survivors. This medical service was held for two consecutive days.

This Dompet Dhuafa’s medical service was entitled Aksi Layanan Sehat or ALS (Health Service Action). On the first day after the flood disaster on February 24, 2023, ALS was held in Dusun Pengantap and Dusun Kebeng, Buwun Mas Village, Sekotong West Lombok, NTB.

Meanwhile, ALS on the second day after the flood was held on February 25, 2023 in Dusun Sap Baru and Dusun Sep, Buwun Mas Village, Sekotong West Lombok, NTB.

Alhamdulillah, the DMC and RDK LKC NTB teams can provide health services to the flood survivors. We hope that by the existence of this service, it can reduce the burden of health problems faced by the survivors,” explained Zulkarnaen Khotibi as the Head of LKC Dompet Dhuafa NTB.

Those areas were hit the hardest by the flood in the regions. The purpose of this activity was to reduce the impact of the flood. Medical services were carried out in the form of health check ups, consultations, and free therapies and drugs.

“We, together with the RDK LKC NTB Team, intend to reduce the burden of suffering for the flood survivors. Hopefully this will be our effort and intention in providing assistance and doing good deeds,” explained Narwan, the Response-Recovery Manager of DMC Dompet Dhuafa.

With a total of 162 visits, the cases of diseases found included hives, diarrhea, heartburn, hypertension and several other diseases.

The Head of the Emergency and Logistics Division of Badan Penanggulangan Bencana Daerah or BPBD (Regional Disaster Management Agency) West Lombok, Hartono Ahmad said that the number of flood victims in Buwun Mas Village and Persiapan Pengantap Village reached 1,320 people, Sekotong Tengah reached 3,600 people, and West Sekotong reached 300 people.
