JOMBANG, EAST JAVA –— This week, the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. DR. (HC.) KH. Ma’ruf Amin, paid a working visit to the East Java region. Various activities filled the working visit. Not to be missed, after a reunion at the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, during his working visit, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin also stopped by the Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital, Tebuireng Jombang. One of the waqf-based hospitals initiated by the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation and the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School.
On this occasion, accompanied by KH. Abdul Ghofar, Secretary of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, H. Iqbal Billy Wahid, Director of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital, Etika Setiawanti, Director of Resource Mobilization at Dompet Dhuafa, and Dr. Muhammad Zakaria, Director of PT. DD Medika, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin conducted a hospital tour. Guided by Dr. Muhammad Zakaria, Ma’ruf Amin inspected several facilities and rooms at Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital. Starting from the hospital lobby, the inspection continued to the operating room, patient care rooms, and the ICU. Through the hospital tour, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin was able to directly observe the condition and readiness of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital to provide medical services to the community.

After touring Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital, Vice President Ma’ruf Amin returned to the hospital lobby to share his impressions of the tour and lead a prayer for the success and blessings of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital. The Vice President expressed his appreciation for the existence of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital in Tebuireng, Jombang. As an alumnus of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, he expressed his admiration for the development of the boarding school in the current era. This is because the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School is now much more advanced with a variety of facilities available.
“When I was a child, I attended Pesantren Tebuireng. I see that today, Islamic boarding schools have developed significantly. They are no longer just religious schools, but also develop economic activities and now even have their own hospitals. I hope this development will continue,” said Vice President Ma’ruf Amin during his visit to Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital.
Request for Prayers and Support from the Community
On the same occasion, the leader of the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School, KH. Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, asked for the community’s prayers and support so that Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital can begin operating in 2022. “Please pray that Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital can begin operating soon. That way, it can immediately provide services to the community. We hope that it can begin operating this year,” explained Abdul.

In line with KH. Abdul Hakim Mahfudz, Dr. Muhammad Zakaria, Director of PT. DD Medika, who directly guided the Vice President’s visit to Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital, also asked for the community’s prayers and support. Dr. Zakaria said that even though the hospital building already stands majestically in the community, there is still a need for medical equipment to complete the operation of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital.
“We have maximized our fundraising efforts for the construction and, thank God, we have been able to realize the physical building. Currently, we are simultaneously processing the operating permit and, most importantly, completing the medical equipment for the hospital facilities. With the visit of KH. Ma’ruf Amin, we hope that this will be one of our efforts in accelerating the operation of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital. Additionally, we request the prayers and support of the entire community for the success and blessings of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital in Tebuireng,” explained Dr. Muhammad Zakaria after guiding the hospital tour.
