In essence, Allah SWT created the earth and the heavens as perfectly as possible. The beauty that He has created serves as a reminder and proof that Allah SWT is the best of creators.
“(He is also) the One who created the seven heavens in layers. You will not see any imperfection in the creation of the Most Gracious. So look again! Do you see any flaw? Then look again and again (to find a flaw in Allah’s creation), surely your sight will return to you, tired and weary (because you will not find it).” (QS. Al-Mulk: 3-4)
If that is the case, what should humans, as His creations, do?
Humans are tasked with preserving and caring for all the beauty that already exists. In Indonesia alone, natural beauty is abundant and vast. However, many are still unaware of the importance of preserving and even nurturing this beauty so that it can be more beneficial to many people.
Dompet Dhuafa, as a social philanthropy institution, strives to preserve and even develop natural beauty so that its benefits can continue to be felt by the wider community through the instrument of waqf. In principle, waqf, which is a form of sadaqah jariyah (charity that continues to generate rewards), will continue to grow in benefits and rewards. These benefits will be felt by those who receive them, and the rewards will grow and flow to those who fulfill them.
This year, Dompet Dhuafa is launching Wakaferse, a global movement to encourage widespread community waqf initiatives, particularly monetary waqf. If one million people contribute waqf each month, with each contribution amounting to Rp10,000, a total of Rp10 billion will be collected. The funds collected will be invested in Productive Waqf Assets, including schools, hospitals, agriculture, plantations, livestock, industry, and others. The surplus will flow to the beneficiaries. Additionally, as long as the waqf generates a surplus, the rewards for the good deeds will continue to flow to the waqf donors even after their passing.
Through Wakaferse, Dompet Dhuafa is committed to improving the welfare of the community. Through the collection of cash waqf, waqf through money, and other waqf instruments, Wakaf Dompet Dhuafa carries out its mandate productively, professionally, and faithfully. Waqf itself can grow and provide greater benefits to the community. Anyone can make a wakaf, as Islam was not revealed to make life difficult, but to guide humanity to live happily in paradise.
Thus, as a chosen human being, you can preserve the universe through wakaf.
