Warm Hugs Turkish Earthquake Survivors During Cold Night in Refugee Camps

Notes of Dompet Dhuafa Volunteers while With Turkish Earthquake Survivors in Refugee Camps.

HATAY, TURKEY — One thing that impressed us when we distributed the mandate of aid from Dompet Dhuafa donors to Turkey and Syria earthquake survivors were their fortitude in dealing with earthquakes and accepting this test.

During the distribution of aid in the evacuation area at midnight this night, Wednesday (15/2/2023), we asked whether there was anything else that we could help that survivors need now. And their answer immediately made us all feel touched.

“Insya Alloh, God willing, enough, brother, Allah will suffice all,” said one of the refugees.

It is evident to the eye that they still desperately need help from all of us. Even now, they are still struggling with winter and living in tents, even with the food source for the next few weeks also running out because they have not been able to work because their land and livelihoods have been affected by the earthquake.

What is clear is that they always say endlessly, “Teşekkür ederim” (thank you) for Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa.
