SURABAYA, EAST JAVA — Dompet Dhuafa East Java Branch together with Petrogas Jatim Utama Cendana (PJUC) and Titik Balik Community held a Collaborative action entitled Cine Charity 2022 at Cinema XXI Plaza Surabaya, Surabaya City, East Java on Saturday (26/11/2022). However, this event was not only held in one city, but Cine Charity 2022 was also held simultaneously in 20 cities in Indonesia. This event was also carried out in commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disability on upcoming December 3.
In the Cine Charity 2022 event, 60 children with disabilities, orphans and dhuafa from four different foundations were present. In addition, there were also 44 accompanying volunteers to accompany the children doing activities during the event.

In accordance with the theme, the KolaborAksi (collaborative action) event this time invited all participants who came to watch Tegar film which had just been released on November 24, 2022. This film tells the story of Tegar, a child with a disability who is still 10 years old. Tegar is said to have never received enough affection from his parents.
It was hoped that this movie could encourage the children with disabilities, the orphans, and dhuafa who were present. Considering that there were still many people with disabilities out there who were discouraged because they felt that they did not have the same opportunities as people in general. This was in line with what the Chairperson of the Cine Charity 2020 Committee, Muslimah, said. She hoped that Tegar could strengthen the mentality of thr children in living life.
“Hopefully, by watching this movie, it could strengthen the mentality of the children in living life in the midst of limitations, like Tegar,” she said.
In addition to watching movies, the children were also invited to play rides, to eat together, and to get hampers and pocket money at the end of the event. The implementation of this event certainly could not be separated from the full support provided by Petrogas Jatim Utama Cendana (PJUC) and Titik Balik Community.
Suney Nugraha as the representative of PJUC in his speech said that he was happy because he was able to work with Dompet Dhuafa to organize this event. Suney also admitted that he was moved because of the enthusiasm shown by the children with disabilities, orphans, and dhuafa who were present.
“We are an institution engaged in the gas sector, especially in Surabaya, and indeed have a full obligation to help. We have been working with Dompet Dhuafa East Java for a long time in the social sector. And right now, we’re back engaged to support the children.”
“Honestly, I personally feel proud and moved by the courage of the children here. Hopefully, this Tegar movie will be able to inspire the children, and the children will remain enthusiastic even with all the disabilities, because there are many strengths in ourselves,” Suney Nugraha said.
Delaguna as the head of Titik Balik Community also expressed his gratitude for being involved in the 2022 Cine Charity KolaborAksi event.
“We are grateful to be involved in this activity and this event gives us motivation to be more grateful. It’s great to see the children being enthusiastic here, and I also express my gratitude for the entire committee for making today’s event a success,” Delaguna said.
On the other hand, Kholid Abdillah as the Head of Dompet Dhuafa East Java Branch hoped that the day’s event could provide inspiration for people with disabilities and parents out there.
“The event is cool, it’s amazing. This program inspires children with disabilities and parents,” said Kholid Abdillah in Surabaya, East Java.
