JAKARTA -— Dompet Dhuafa continues to strengthen the role of waqf as an instrument of economic empowerment for the community through its participation in the Sharia Economic Festival (SCOFEST) 2025, which took place at Menara 165, Jakarta. The event was initiated by the Islamic Economics Study Group for Sharia Economic Activists (KSEI AkSES) in collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa. Through this participation, Dompet Dhuafa invites the public, especially the younger generation, to view waqf not merely as a form of worship, but also as a sustainable instrument for economic empowerment of the community.
The event, initiated by KSEI AkSES, featured a variety of inspiring agendas, ranging from large-scale religious lectures, Islamic banking seminars, to discussions on zakat, infaq, sadaqah, and waqf (Ziswaf). Dompet Dhuafa is participating in SCOFEST 2025 by opening a donation booth and selling merchandise that makes it easy for participants to give infaq and waqf through Dompet Dhuafa.

During the seminar session, Imam Al Faruq, Manager of Waqf Literacy at Dompet Dhuafa, explained Dompet Dhuafa’s efforts in managing productive waqf through a sustainable ecosystem such as the Pesantren Tahfidz Green Lido (PTGL). This program not only produces Quran memorizers, but also prepares students with leadership and entrepreneurial skills. The students are equipped with modern greenhouse-based agricultural skills, enabling them to contribute to creating an economic ecosystem.
In addition to productive waqf education, Dompet Dhuafa also invites the public to take part in the Cash Waqf Linked Sukuk (CWLS) Series 006, which will end on October 15, 2025. Together with CIMB Niaga Syariah as the Sharia Financial Institution Receiving Cash Waqf (LKS PWU), Dompet Dhuafa opens opportunities for the community to invest while performing acts of worship. The funds collected will be channeled for the construction of Islamic boarding schools and student dormitories at PTGL, expanding the benefits of waqf for education and community welfare.
“I highly appreciate SCOFEST 2025, and we also invite our friends to take part in supporting and promoting the Sharia ecosystem at CWLS. Dompet Dhuafa’s partner is CIMB Niaga Syariah. We invest and worship because the benefits can be used to build PTGL and student dormitories, which are currently needed by students so they can rest and study more comfortably,” said Imam Al Faruq.

Through this invitation, the spirit of collaboration between Islamic financial institutions, philanthropic organizations, and the younger generation was evident at SCOFEST 2025. This event was not only an educational forum, but also a platform for synergy.
In line with this, Syahrul Mubarak, Chairman of KSEI AkSES, explained that SCOFEST aims to open the public’s perspective that the Islamic economy is not just an alternative, but a real solution for the economic sustainability of the people amid the dominance of the conventional system.
“We would like to thank Dompet Dhuafa for contributing to this event through waqf and zakat education. We hope that Dompet Dhuafa can become the best waqf platform in Indonesia that continues to support the growth of the Islamic economy,” he said.

Meanwhile, one of the participants of SCOFEST 2025, Nada, expressed her appreciation for this event. She hopes that more young people will become literate in Islamic economics.
“Hopefully, more young people in Indonesia will become aware that the Islamic economy is actually a very crucial matter, and young people like us really need to know about fiqh muamalah, especially knowledge about waqf,” she said.
With Dompet Dhuafa’s presence at SCOFEST 2025, it is hoped that more people will be inspired to participate in waqf and contribute to building a sustainable and empowering Islamic economy. (Dompet Dhuafa)
