ACEH —-— On Friday (February 13, 2026), 50 school kits were distributed to boost the enthusiasm of students in Gampong Kubu, Peusangan Siblah Krueng District, Bireuen. This assistance came amid conditions that were still far from ideal after severe flooding hit the area in late November 2025. Although their schools and homes were severely affected, the children must continue their education as an important part of post-disaster recovery.
The school kits are a form of assistance from Dompet Dhuafa and its partners. This collaboration was born out of a shared desire to ensure that post-flood recovery in Sumatra, especially in Bireuen, can be realized as soon as possible, including the recovery of the education sector, which has been seriously affected.
The floods not only submerged classrooms and learning equipment, but also left behind thick mud that hampered school activities. In fact, in some areas, the strong flood currents caused severe damage to school buildings, with some being completely washed away. In situations like this, the school kits symbolize hope that children can continue their education.
More than just fulfilling their learning obligations, school activities also provide a space for psychological recovery for children. By continuing to attend school, they do not have to remain immersed in sadness at home or in refugee camps. Meeting peers, joking, playing, and learning together are important parts of maintaining their mental stability.

Hasairi Arnas, Digital Partnership Dompet Dhuafa, said that his party is trying not to give up on children who survived the flood. Because, at an age that is still in the golden phase of learning, the education process must not be interrupted. They still have a long journey ahead of them, with hopes and dreams that are still wide open in the future. That is why the continuity of education is a major concern in every humanitarian response by Dompet Dhuafa.
“The mental stability of children must be maintained. The provisions for life in the form of science and knowledge must also continue to be facilitated, even in emergency conditions,” he said.
As a form of this commitment, Dompet Dhuafa consistently provides teaching and learning facilities for children affected by disasters. Through collaboration with various parties, Dompet Dhuafa organizes various fun activities outside of academic learning. These activities are designed to restore the children’s enthusiasm while also supporting teachers to remain capable and enthusiastic in providing education in accordance with post-disaster conditions.

Not only providing psychosocial and educational assistance, Dompet Dhuafa also distributes school kits as the main support for the students’ learning process. This assistance contains school supplies that are urgently needed after many stationery items and textbooks were damaged or lost due to flooding.
Arnas expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all partners, donors, and volunteers who continue to show their concern in humanitarian actions with Dompet Dhuafa. According to him, the happiness and enthusiasm of the students who received these school kits have encouraged his team to continue helping. (Dompet Dhuafa)
