KEBUMEN, CENTRAL JAVA —-— Efforts to accelerate the reduction of stunting continue to be strengthened through capacity-building for community health workers at the village level. Layanan Kesehatan Cuma-Cuma (LKC) Dompet Dhuafa Central Java held an outreach session and the formation of Integrated Nutrition Post cadres in Lembupurwo Village, Kebumen Regency, on Wednesday (February 18, 2026).
This activity was attended by 22 cadres from Lembupurwo Village and served as the first step in implementing the Integrated Nutrition Post Program. The objective was to enhance the understanding of Posyandu cadres regarding the concept of the Integrated Nutrition Post while mapping nutrition-related issues at the village level to serve as the foundation for developing more targeted interventions.
The socialization materials were presented by Intan Khoirunnisa, S.K.M., who emphasized the importance of cadres’ roles in preventing and addressing nutrition issues through the positive deviance approach and interventions during the first 1,000 days of life (HPK). These two approaches are considered strategic in fostering behavior change based on existing best practices within the community and strengthening interventions during the most critical phase of life.

Following the presentation of the material, the session continued with group discussions organized by each Posyandu. The discussions focused on identifying and mapping nutrition-related issues in Lembupurwo Village. The community health workers actively participated by sharing real-world conditions on the ground, including the various challenges they face when supporting target families.
The discussion results indicated that nutrition issues in Lembupurwo Village are not solely influenced by economic factors. Rather, they are also driven by suboptimal parenting practices, inadequate environmental sanitation, and insufficient implementation of the Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) program. These factors are key determinants and require comprehensive addressing.
The commitment to implementing the program was also emphasized by Lembupurwo Village Midwife, Nurkhasanah.
“God willing, we cadres are ready to carry out the Integrated Nutrition Post activities as part of the effort to reduce the prevalence of stunting in this village,” she said.

Titi Ngudiati, Head of the Dompet Dhuafa Community Development Center (LKC) in Central Java, emphasized that the establishment of Integrated Nutrition Posts is a strategy to strengthen the role of community health workers as the vanguard of change at the village level.
“Through outreach and the training of Integrated Nutrition Post cadres, we aim to enhance their understanding while mapping out nutrition-related issues at the village level as a foundation for planning future interventions. Efforts to prevent and address malnutrition require an approach that addresses parenting practices, sanitation, and the adoption of clean and healthy living habits in a sustainable manner,” said Titi Ngudiati.
Through capacity building for cadres and a community-based approach, the Integrated Nutrition Post program is expected to drive sustainable improvements in the community’s nutritional status and accelerate the reduction of stunting in Lembupurwo Village and the surrounding areas. (Dompet Dhuafa)
