Organizing a Sarasehan, LPM Initiates The Indonesian Patient Shelter Forum

JAKARTA — It is time for Indonesia to have a formal forum for patient shelter managers. Besides, the existence is significant to patients and their families and also beneficial to the government. This was conveyed by the Director of Da’wah, Culture and Community Services of Dompet Dhuafa, Ahmad Shonhaji, in front of more than 20 leaders of patient shelters from the envoys of East Java, Central Java, West Java, Lampung, Jakarta, Banten, at a Workshop on Indonesian Patient Shelters in Jakarta, on Wednesday (19/10/2022).

In addition to a forum for gathering and sharing information, continued Shonhaji as the main presenter, the forum can be used as a formal channel in fighting for the rights of healthy living of Indonesian citizens. “The event initiated by LPM (Lembaga Pelayan Masyarakat) Dompet Dhuafa is presented as a forum for community contributions to a healthier life constructively, effectively, holistically, and sustainably.”

After the event, Ahmad Subarkah said that it was essential to support the efforts of LPM Dompet Dhuafa to form a formal forum for managing patient shelters. “The Ministry of Social Affairs appreciates Dompet Dhuafa for helping solve community problems throughout Indonesia. In particular, efforts to provide and serve patients who need complete health care in the Capital City.”

The Head of Sehati Lebak Peduli Volunteers, whose name is published as Gigi Gondrong, hopes that the establishment of the Rumah Singgah Patient Forum throughout Indonesia, in addition to adding insight and strengthening friendships, also initiate benefits for the wider community. “So, all information can be conveyed to people needing a halfway house.”

In his opening remarks, the Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa, M. Noor Awaluddin Asjhar, emphasized that, in fact, the synergy of the patient shelter program can make a major contribution to the wider community, especially patients and patient’s families. “Not only solving health problems but also helping to unravel social problems that are born at the same time or after health problems can be overcome.”
