LAMPUNG — On Wednesday (28/6/2023), one day before Eid al-Adha 1444 H, Dompet Dhuafa Lampung began distributing sacrificial animals to various regions. Hundreds of ram-type sacrificial animals and dozens of bull-type sacrificial animals have been prepared to implement the Dompet Dhuafa Sacrificial Animal Stocking (THK) tomorrow. Especially for sacrificial animals of sheep type, all of them are cared for at DD Farm Lampung Enclosure in Tulung Agung Village, Gadingrejo, Pringsewu, Lampung,
Rios Hendri Saputro, Head of DD Farm Lampung, said that his party continually monitors and conducts Quality Control (QC) on every sacrificial sheep prepared. Two months before Eid al-Adha, DD Farm Lampung started vaccinating in collaboration with the Animal Health Center (Puskeswan) Region 3 Pringsewu Regency.
“We continue to monitor each sacrificial animal so that it remains healthy and weight-appropriate until the day the animal is sacrificed,” he said.

From DD Farm Lampung’s enclosure, the sheep were then transported to three other locations. Meanwhile, there will be 93 sheep that will remain in the pen to be sacrificed and distributed to residents of Tulung Agung Village, namely residents around the pen, on Sacrifice Day 1444 H, which coincides with Thursday (29/6/2023).
The distribution points of sacrificial animals in Tulung Agung Village will target mosques and prayer rooms. This distribution proves that DD Farm’s presence in the Tulung Agung community continues to benefit the surrounding environment.
The benefits of the Dompet Dhuafa Sacrificial Animal Stocking Program (THK) continue beyond there. The cage subordinates (ABK) who work at DD Farm Lampung are also a form of community empowerment. They are disadvantaged children who drop out of school due to cost issues. While at DD Farm, in addition to getting facilitation every month, they also learn about modern animal husbandry. Moreover, the Head of DD Farm Lampung, Rios Hendri, is a Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) graduate majoring in Livestock Production Technology.
Head of Dompet Dhuafa Lampung Branch, Yogi Achmad Fajar, emphasized that sacrificial animals provided by Dompet Dhuafa Lampung are ensured to be healthy and eligible for sacrifice. Among the points that DD Farm Lampung continues to monitor until the day before the implementation of the sacrifice is to ensure that animals remain active, are not sick, have an appetite, and have no legs that are deformed due to pinching or others. Indeed, the weight does not fall from the target.
There is still time. Let us carry out sacrificial services through Dompet Dhuafa. One piece of sacrificial meat you give will significantly benefit those in need: one sacrifice, much kindness. (Dompet Dhuafa/Muthohar)
