JAKARTA —-— Security training as part of the Paradaya Movement 2.0 program was once again organized by Dompet Dhuafa through the Institut Kemandirian (IK), in collaboration with PT Paragon Corp and the Forum Zakat (FOZ). The event took place at the Indonesian Air Force’s Lakespra base in Jakarta on Tuesday (January 20, 2026).
The training materials are based on the Gada Pratama curriculum in accordance with Regulation of the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Perkap) No. 24 of 2020 concerning Community-Based Security Management, Perkap No. 18 of 2006 concerning Security Guard Training and Curriculum, and Decision of the Chief of the Indonesian National Police No. 54 of 2023 concerning the Gada Pratama Security Guard Education and Training Curriculum. Through this curriculum, participants will acquire technical security skills in accordance with police standards.

Over the course of nine full days, the 35 security training participants—hailing from various regions, including areas outside Java—were not only equipped with technical skills in the field of security but also honed through soft skills training, such as self-concept building, leadership, and communication, as well as residential activities designed to foster resilience, integrity, and readiness to serve as professional security personnel.
This initiative received support from PT Daya Prima Lestari (DPL) as a partner of IK Dompet Dhuafa. PT DPL is a professional security services provider that contributes to making training accessible to underprivileged communities so they can acquire the skills and certification needed to become security personnel.

This program aims to produce professional security guards with integrity who are ready to be assigned to various PT DPL projects. Participants who complete the training and pass the assessment will receive an official certificate and a valid security guard membership card (KTA) as proof of their competence.
PT DPL’s CEO, Soekamto Limopranto Fillipus Andreas, emphasized the importance of possessing skills for the younger generation amid the challenges of today’s rapidly changing world. With the skills gained from the Paradaya Movement 2.0 security training, participants are expected to find employment more easily and become more competitive in the job market.

“At PT Daya Prima Lestari, we will provide education to all our students to help them find jobs more easily, because they will have the necessary skills. “What we have taught them must be put into practice, and at PT DPL, we don’t just make promises—we actively work to ensure that those we’ve trained can be placed in jobs. Once they secure employment, they can ultimately grow and empower themselves, as well as their communities and families,” explained Soekamto.

At the same event, the security trainees also received basic training in Gada Pratama baton and handcuff techniques, which focused on mastering the use of the tonfa baton and metal handcuffs for self-defense, situation control, and the safe handling of suspects. The training included drills for striking and blocking with the baton, as well as handcuffing and countering techniques.
Additionally, the training curriculum covered arrest techniques, prevention, interrogation, and evidence collection. Furthermore, participants received physical training, including the use of handcuffs and batons. During field exercises, instructors provided detailed explanations of handcuffing techniques and baton usage, both for offensive and defensive purposes.

Sri Mida Tritis Balden, a female participant from Tangerang, expressed her desire to try her hand at the security field with full confidence. This woman, who has a background as a model, believes that the profession of a security guard carries significant responsibility, which is what motivated her to take an interest and seriously consider taking on this role.
“Because I really want to try my hand at the security field—and perhaps because of the sense of responsibility involved in the job—seeing female security guards out there seems like a really interesting challenge, you know? Because the responsibility is truly immense when it comes to maintaining security,” said Mida.

He described the training he had attended over the past few days as exceptional and packed with content. In his view, each session was intensive and substantive, providing him with additional experience, knowledge, and insight.
“My hope is to become a professional security officer when performing duties in the field, since we’ve been equipped with the necessary knowledge. I’d like to express my deepest gratitude to the Independence Institute and Paragon for bringing me to this level in the security industry—may they continue to achieve greater success and blessings,” concluded Mida.

Unlike Mida, one of the participants from Parung Kuda, Sukabumi, Ali Aji Salimudin actually wants to pursue a dream that had once seemed out of reach: becoming a member of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI). According to Ali, the profession of a security guard shares similarities with that of the Indonesian National Police (Polri) or the TNI, which is why he was interested in joining this training program.
With strong enthusiasm and determination, Ali admitted he was excited when he decided to take on this new challenge. Previously, he worked as a delivery rider relying on daily earnings. However, after seeing a post about the Paradaya Movement 2.0 on social media, he felt challenged to take a different path and open up better opportunities for himself.

“Earlier, during the baton and handcuff training, I was really interested because security officers don’t always find themselves in safe situations—there’s a possibility they might face cases of theft or fights. That’s why, in my opinion, the basics of self-defense are essential for dealing with emergency situations,” said Ali.

“Thank you to the Dompet Dhuafa Independence Institute and Paragon for giving me this opportunity to make my dream come true. I really want to try a career path in security; they said that for now, I should start at the Gada Pratama level, then move on to Madya and Utama. My hope is to eventually reach the Gada Utama level,” Ali added. (Dompet Dhuafa)
