BANDUNG —-— As the 1447 H Qurbani Animal Distribution Program (THK) gains momentum, Dompet Dhuafa continues to promote education regarding the implementation of the qurbani program. One such initiative was the “Care Visit: Farm Tour” event held with donors at Asian Brother’s Agritech (ABA) Farm in Ujungberung, Bandung, on Thursday, May 7, 2026.

The series of activities began with a sharing session to introduce the journey of the Sacrificial Animal Distribution Program, which has been running for 31 years, including the procurement of livestock through strategic partnerships with external partners.

The presentation for the Sharing Session was delivered by Luthfillah Ishaq, Deputy Chair of THK 1447 H at Dompet Dhuafa; Yogi Fajar Ahmad, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa West Java; and Erdika Purnama Diresta, CEO of ABA Farm.

A total of 30 enthusiastic donors participated in this care visit to the livestock pens. It’s no wonder—the donors had the opportunity to select their own qurban animals, and they could also witness firsthand the precise weighing process, ensuring the offered weights strictly met the standards.

The donors’ enthusiasm was evident as they were able to choose an animal directly and complete the transaction on-site. Equally exciting, Dompet Dhuafa West Java also offered special promotional prices for donors who made purchases directly at the animal pens that day.

Take Ruly and Ida, for example, who were participating in the “Jelajah Kandang” program for the first time. However, Ruly and his wife, Ida, have been supporting Dompet Dhuafa for over a decade.

“Wow, this is so exciting—it’s actually exceeded both of our expectations. Our expectations have definitely been met here, seeing all these healthy sheep for qurban. Hopefully, our qurban will be accepted by Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala,” said Ruly.

During the Barn Tour, Ruly and Ida purchased two sheep—one premium and one medium-sized.

“Yes, since we were allowed to choose them directly, we were really excited. We were so happy to have the freedom to select them, receive comprehensive information, and even get a discount!” added Ida.

Ida and Ruly explained that they chose to make their qurbani through Dompet Dhuafa because they wanted to ensure that the qurbani animals would be distributed to those in greater need. This trust also stems from Dompet Dhuafa’s track record, which has consistently implemented social and humanitarian programs.

“We want to make a sacrifice for those in greater need—and who wouldn’t trust Dompet Dhuafa? We’ve heard a lot about Dompet Dhuafa’s work over the years, and we’ve been doing this for years now. We have complete faith in them; it’s been more than 10 years, I think. Hopefully, we’ll stay committed. Aamiin… May Dompet Dhuafa also remain steadfast,” Ida concluded.

During the session, donors received an explanation about the history of THK, the distribution of programs across West Java, and the process of animal care and quality control for the sacrificial animals.

During this visit, Yogi Fajar Ahmad, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa West Java, also emphasized the spirit of the THK program, which is to distribute qurbani animals to remote areas to reach communities in need.

As one of Dompet Dhuafa West Java’s livestock partners, the initiative is seen as aligning with the values of Dompet Dhuafa’s THK Program—namely, empowerment under the tagline “Support Your Local Farmer”—as an effort to empower local and smallholder farmers in the procurement of qurbani animals.

“Today’s activity serves as a demonstration that the Qurbani Animal Distribution Program truly empowers local farmers. This is because we are partnering with ABA Farm, an organization dedicated to empowering local farmers, and this aligns with Dompet Dhuafa’s values of empowering smallholder farmers. In addition, there is an educational component regarding how the distribution of sacrificial animals at Dompet Dhuafa undergoes a quality control process,” said Yogi.

In West Java itself, the THK Program will be implemented across five regions, including Bandung Regency, West Bandung Regency, Cianjur Regency, Cirebon Regency, and Tasikmalaya Regency. The program targets beneficiaries who have not had access to meat for years—such as those in Purwakarta—as well as disaster-affected areas in West Java.

Donors were invited to tour the farm to witness firsthand the feed processing and get a closer look at the sheep pens. Participants received an in-depth explanation from Erdika Purnama Diresta, CEO of ABA Farm, regarding various aspects of livestock farming, ranging from animal care to farm management.

This event also promoted the THK Program, which guarantees five certainties: Guaranteed Male, Guaranteed Distribution to Remote Areas, Guaranteed Quality Control Compliance, Guaranteed Sharia Compliance, and Guaranteed Rapid Reporting.

“Alhamdulillah, from 2019 until now, we have partnered with Dompet Dhuafa, which supports local livestock farmers—people who, by and large, work solely as farmers and livestock breeders. That’s why I chose to work with them; we’re a perfect fit with Dompet Dhuafa. Likewise, Dompet Dhuafa’s distribution efforts are focused on those who are truly in dire need,” said Erdika.

“We’re also very proud—truly proud—of this partnership. Hopefully, it will become even more sustainable in the future, continue to grow, and bring progress to both of us,” added Erdika Purnama Diresta.
