PALEMBANG, SOUTH SUMATRA — To encourage the advancement and development of small businesses among the community, Dompet Dhuafa’s South Sumatra Branch has initiated the MSME Upgrading Program. On Tuesday (5/12/2023), the MSME Upgrading Program 1 was officially launched at the Palembang City Labor Office Hall, Jl Ade Irma Nasution No 125, Sungai Pangeran, Palembang.
The launch of the MSME Upgrading Program was attended by the Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel, Rizki Asmuni the Chairperson of ASPENKU Sumsel, the Head of the Palembang City Labor Office, representatives from the Cooperative Office, and many MSMEs from Sumsel Province. A total of 20 MSMEs supported by this MSME Upgrading Program will undergo intensive mentoring, including entrepreneurship training for six weeks.

Each week, participants of the MSME Upgrading Program 1 will receive direct guidance from experienced mentors. The mentors are members of the Association of Cake and Culinary Entrepreneurs (ASPENKU) of South Sumatra Province, led by Bunda Rayya.
In the program introduction session, Shasky Eka Cahyani explained that the goal of this program is to enhance the skills and capacities of MSME operators so that they can compete more effectively in an increasingly competitive economic market.
“The culmination of this program will involve a rigorous selection, where the top 10 MSMEs will be chosen to participate in the subsequent MSME Upgrading Program 2. Additionally, they will receive business allowance assistance as further support from Dompet Dhuafa Sumsel,” revealed Shasky.
“Therefore, this program is expected not only to be a step forward for the involved MSMEs but also to have a broader positive impact on the economy in South Sumatra,” she concluded. (Ahb)
