The total number of dai who will be dispatched is 31 dai, consisting of 28 dai (men) and 3 daiyah (women). While the overall country that is the destination of Dompet Dhuafa’s Dai Ambassadors in Ramadan this year is 16 countries. Among them are Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Luxemburg, the Philippines, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Suriname, New Zealand, New Caledonia, Thailand, Timor Leste, and Greece.

Previously, the preachers had gone through a rigorous recruitment and selection process. They have also received guidance and training, a week before departure. This is done intensively in order to achieve uniformity of values about what will be preached. More specifically, because the preachers are not only tasked with preaching spiritually, but also socially. They will be considered as a reflection of Indonesian Muslims as well as a reflection of philanthropy in Indonesia.

“This year, the program implementation is more about expanding beneficiaries and partnerships. We want Dompet Dhuafa’s international da’wah to not only focus on one point, but more and more widely. May Allah make it easy for what is the intention of Dompet Dhuafa’s international da’wah,” explained Totok.

Meanwhile, on another occasion, Ahmad Shonhaji, Chairman of Yayasan Sumberdaya Masyarakat Indonesia (YSMI), said that the international da’wah program that runs for one month is expected to be able to more widely spread the values of Islam which is rahmatan lil ‘alamin.

“Strengthening the mindset of universal and moderate Islamic teachings in the global world is the foundation of this program. Because, Dompet Dhuafa is one part of a da’wah institution that contributes to the strengthening of faith and sharia not only domestically, but more broadly,” said Ahmad.

In addition, Dai Ambassadors are also sought to build networks with da’wah partners and multi-stakeholders. This is done as a strengthening of the Dompet Dhuafa network in the international arena. With sufficient provision, the dai are also tasked with expanding the values of Dompet Dhuafa which are implemented through the five pillars of the Dompet Dhuafa program, namely education, health, social, economic, da’wah and culture.
