NORTH SUMATRA – Zakat Forum (FOZ) North Sumatra and BPJS Employment North Sumatra signed a cooperation agreement to provide health insurance for mustahik on Tuesday (24/12/2024). Dompet Dhuafa through its North Sumatra Branch (DD Waspada) also contributed to this cooperation. Overall, this collaboration aims to provide protection guarantees in the form of work accident insurance and death insurance for mustahiks.
The PKS signing process was carried out by Syarifah Wan Fatimah, Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Binjai Branch, together with leaders of zakat institutions, including Dompet Dhuafa Waspada. This event marks the start of a strategic collaboration to provide security to the underprivileged.

Sulaiman, Branch Manager of Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, expressed optimism about the positive impact of this collaboration. He believes that this program can be a real solution to ensure protection for mustahiks.
“This is an important step in ensuring mustahiks get protection. After this PKS, we will try to implement this program optimally through various effective approaches,” explained Sulaiman.
Sulaiman also emphasized that Dompet Dhuafa Waspada will immediately integrate this protection program into the various activities they manage.
“Volunteers and mustahiks who are part of our fostered programs will receive direct benefits from this collaboration. We want to ensure that all parties we support receive maximum protection,” he added.

Marinho Feli Latuperisa, representative of the North Sumatra Regional Office of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan, appreciated the initiative of FOZ North Sumatra and various zakat institutions, including Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, in supporting this program. He considered this step as a real form of concern for people who need insurance protection.
“With the high enthusiasm of zakat institutions such as Dompet Dhuafa Waspada, we are sure this program will succeed in reaching more beneficiaries,” said Marinho.
This cooperation program is planned to start running in 2025 with the hope of having a significant positive impact on the mustahik. This collaboration is expected to be the first step to building a better social protection system for the weak economic community. (Dompet Dhuafa)
