ESAT JAVA – Dompet Dhuafa and Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School Foundation held the Grand Launching of Hasyim Ash’ari Hospital (Rumah Sakit Hasyim Asy’ari (RSHA)) Jombang on Tuesday (8/8/2023). Located in the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School area, precisely on Cukir-Parkir Makam Gus Dur Street, Kwaron, Diwek, Jombang, this waqf-based hospital has complete and adequate services.
Present at this inauguration event, namely the Governor of East Java Dra. Hj. Khofifah Indar Parawansa and his staff, the wife of the late. Gus Sholah, namely Farida Salahuddin Wahid, Initiator of Dompet Dhuafa, Parni Hadi and his staff, Director of RSHA dr. Aria Dewanggana, caregiver of Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School KH Abdul Hakim Mahfuzh, as well as donors and stakeholders involved.
The inauguration ceremony of RSHA was marked by pressing the launch button by Farida Salahuddin Wahid, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, and Parni Hadi. While the opening of the hospital was marked by a ribbon cutting in front of the entrance of the RSHA which was also carried out by the three.

The initiation of construction of this hospital began with the first visit of the late Salahuddin Wahid went to the Integrated Health House (RST) Madina Zone Area of Dompet Dhuafa in Bogor on April 20, 2017. A few months after his visit, the extended family of KH Hashim Asy’ari decided to entrust a piece of land covering an area of one hectare. After one year, good collaborations were realized. The symbolic laying of the first stone of the construction of Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital was held on September 19, 2018.
“Gus Sholah really wants (to establish a hospital like the one at Bogor Hospital). Then there were a lot of designs, so little by little, construction began. Just under construction on the 1st floor, Gus Sholah died. We must continue,” said Nyai Farida, telling the history of the establishment of RSHA with Dompet Dhuafa.
Four years later, participation in waqf collaborations also came from various parties, both personal and institutional waqf. On February 2, 2023, Hasyim Asy’ari Hospital finally officially operated and is ready to serve patients. Various good responses from the community also emerged, accompanied by many expectations. Finally, coinciding with the month of independence, RSHA was officially launched.

Various services already exist at RSHA today, including internal medicine poly, gynaecology poly, pediatric poly, heart poly, orthopaedic poly, surgical poly and dental poly. While the types of services that are superior at this RSHA are heart poly and surgical poly.
Parni Hadi emphasized that the dream of Mas Sholah (Parni’s nickname for Gus Sholah) must be continued together and continue to be developed. He said everyone involved in the construction of RSHA at once who was present at this launch was a witness and a perpetrator of history.
“Today, we are witnesses of history as well as we are the historical makers,” he said.

He continued, “I want (RSHA) to be multisectoral and multidimensional. What is it? (Ie) Social, intellectual, cultural and spiritual cooperation. God willing, physically healthy, spiritually healthy, pocket-healthy. Many sick people become poor, poor people suck even more. Dompet Dhuafa (takes care of patients, (gives the means to be independent), we teach, we empower, we have experience for that.”
In line with Parni, East Java Governor Khofifah said in his speech that public health services are joint PR. The more hospitals, the more efforts to bring health services closer to the community, speeding up, simplifying, and cheapening. Especially with the format of Dompet Dhuafa that can greet underprivileged communities that BPJS cannot cover can be served for free.
“If we often tell how industry 4.0, society 5.0, then actually the key is one, (namely) collaboration. When strong collaboration is built, big thoughts, strategic ideas, God willing, will meet the format,” he said.
Khofifah who was present at that time with the President Director of RS dr. Soetomo, namely prof. Joni Wahyuhadi and also Menur Mental Hospital said there would be many possibilities for a partnership process that could be built more strategically with hospitals in East Java.
“We hope that a collaboration process will be built, the possibility of a certain referral process. What may be a certain type of medical device, then a certain specialist,” he added.
The existence of this RSHA is intended to be able to absorb the duafa community well through the process of verification, administration, and others. More broadly, RSHA also generally serves patients, BPJS patients and insurance patients. In addition, RSHA has a free medical program for underprivileged patients and does not have health service guarantees or BPJS Contribution Assistance Recipients (Penerima Bantuan Iuran (PBI)) cards that are no longer active.
Aria Dewanggana explained that administrative requirements for duafa residents who want to get facilities at RSHA are quite easy. That is by bringing a copy of ID card, copy of KK and certificate of incapacity from the local village. (Dompet Dhuafa/Muthohar)
