Dompet Dhuafa Assists Flood Relief Efforts in West Sumatra

PADANG PARIAMAN, WEST SUMATRA —— Dompet Dhuafa, through its Singgalang Branch and Disaster Management Center (DMC), responded quickly to the flood disaster in Padang Pariaman Regency and Solok Regency, West Sumatra. On Wednesday (November 26, 2025), Dompet Dhuafa established a Warm Shelter and Community Kitchen Service to provide food for flood-affected evacuees in Nagari Kampuang Galapuang, Ulakan District, Padang Pariaman Regency.

“There are 330 beneficiaries of the Public Kitchen service that we manage in the Nagari Kampuang Galapuang area. Nur Yusril explained that the water level (TMA) in Nagari Kampuang Galapuang was still high. On Wednesday (11/26/2025), residents were able to return to their homes as the water began to recede. However, heavy rains that have been pouring down on the area since last night until this afternoon (11/27/2025) have not subsided, causing the water level to rise again. The DMC and Dompet Dhuafa Singgalang teams remain on standby at the location to assist the survivors.

Meanwhile, in Solok Regency, flooding has hit the Jorong Muaro Busuak area, Nagari Koto Hilalang, Kubung District, since Tuesday (11/25/2025) due to heavy rainfall. DMC Dompet Dhuafa volunteers in the Solok area distributed 61 gallons of clean water to 61 families in the Jorong Muaro Busuak area.

Dewa Rahmana, DMC Dompet Dhuafa Response Coordinator in Solok, explained that the flooding had cut off residents’ access to clean water, leaving them without water for consumption.

“The flooding cut off residents’ clean water supply. Alhamdulillah, we have helped with this problem by distributing 61 gallons of clean water to 61 affected households,” explained Dewa.
