Dompet Dhuafa Collaborates with Government to Restore Polindes to Support Health of Sumatra Flood Survivors

PIDIE JAYA, ACEH —-— On Wednesday (January 28, 2026), Dompet Dhuafa completed the renovation of the Village Maternity Clinic (Polindes) in Meunasah Mancang Village, Meurah Dua District, Pidie Jaya Regency. Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, and Munawar Ibrahim, Secretary of Pidie Jaya Regency, symbolically cut the green ribbon, marking the reopening of the Meunasah Mancang Village Polindes at full capacity.

“The response and recovery program that we started on November 26, 2025. So, to date, it has been more than two months, and we at Dompet Dhuafa continue to work with volunteers, the community, the government, and various organizations to help survivors in three provinces: West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and especially Aceh,” said Ahmad Juwaini.

“We are very grateful and thankful for the facilitation and support we have received in carrying out our mandate from donors to help flood survivors. Basically, we are only carrying out our mandate,” he continued.

For your information, Dompet Dhuafa has been implementing a health emergency response program through the Free Health Service (LKC) since the disaster struck Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra, until today, Thursday (01/29/2026), by providing various forms of assistance.

Mobile health services are also available in Pidie Jaya, Bireun, North Aceh, Central Aceh, East Aceh, Aceh Tamiang, and Bener Meriah. Other health programs include the PMBA Kitchen and Nutrition Services, reproductive health counseling and education, and mental health services. To date, Dompet Dhuafa’s medical team continues to provide health services in Takengon, Central Aceh.

The renovation of Polindes is one of Dompet Dhuafa’s programs during the transition period from emergency response to community recovery in the health sector.

“We greatly appreciate Dompet Dhuafa. Without Polindes, it would be difficult for us to access health services. Polindes is able to bring access closer to those who need it most. Thank you, we hope for other excellent programs to collaborate with us to help empower the affected communities,” said Munawar.

In addition to renovating the Polindes building, Dompet Dhuafa also distributed 20 posyandu kits to 20 posyandu in 4 sub-districts in Pidie Jaya Regency and 200 mosquito nets along with complete fogging equipment to Meunasah Mancang Village.

This renovation aims to restore access to health services at the village level, so that the community can check their health at the nearest health facility, especially access to maternal and child health services.

In addition to renovating the Polindes, Dompet Dhuafa also provided assistance to posyandu cadres and introduced Nutrition Posts to the surrounding community to support the revitalization of posyandu. These donations were symbolically received by Keuchik Gampong Meunasah Mancang, Jamaludin, and village officials as well as the village health office.

“We are very grateful,” said Jamaludin.

For information, Dompet Dhuafa has also built 117 temporary houses (Rumtara) in Tamiang and 63 in Pidie Jaya, as well as 6 communal toilets (MCK Komunal). Hopefully, the renovation of the Polindes in Meunasah Mancang will restore the community’s life to what it used to be. Hopefully, it will be much better than before. (Dompet Dhuafa)
