JAKARTA – Dompet Dhuafa, together with various philanthropic and humanitarian institutions, also supported the “Indonesia for Palestine: Solidarity, Real Action, and New Hope” campaign initiated by the Indonesian Government. The event took place in the Diplomacy Canteen of the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) on Wednesday (26/02/2025), and was attended by representatives of the government, humanitarian organizations, and friendly countries.
In this collaboration, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs facilitates the distribution of aid to Palestinians. Deputy Foreign Minister Dr. Muhammad Anis Matta emphasized the importance of good coordination in distributing humanitarian aid.
According to him, there are three main aspects that must be considered in the distribution of this aid. First, the program must be strategic. Second, it must have a big impact on the Palestinian people there. Third, it must have symbolic value, representing the presence of the Indonesian people as the largest Muslim country in the Islamic world.
“We must ensure that this assistance is not just financial assistance, but also part of an effort to build a culture of caring from a great nation like Indonesia towards a nation in need,” he said.

The fundraising target for this campaign is USD 200 million, equivalent to IDR 3.27 trillion. These funds will be allocated for various urgent needs, including the provision of health services, food assistance, and infrastructure development, including mosques damaged by the prolonged conflict.
Representing Dompet Dhuafa, Dian Mulyadi, Deputy Director of Corporate Secretary, stated that the current ceasefire is an opportunity for Dompet Dhuafa to intensify assistance for Palestine. He also emphasized that Dompet Dhuafa is designing a special assistance program during the month of Ramadan 1446 H, especially in the food security, health, and education sectors.
“In the near future, we will focus more on the education program. In addition, the food security program will also continue, especially during the month of Ramadan,” he explained.
Dian also added that various initiatives are being developed to ensure that aid reaches those who really need it, including cooperation with local partners in Palestine. In the month of Ramadan 1446 H, Dompet Dhuafa will immediately send a humanitarian team directly from Indonesia. This is also a concrete step taken by Dompet Dhuafa in this joint commitment.

In the “Indonesia for Palestine” campaign, Dompet Dhuafa plans to support the development of health, education, and economic infrastructure in Palestine. One of the closest concrete forms of assistance is to prepare 10,000 food aid packages. In addition, Dompet Dhuafa will also build an emergency mosque that can accommodate more than 500 worshipers, which will function as a center for Ramadan activities and aid distribution.
Dompet Dhuafa will also collaborate with various philanthropic institutions to expand the reach and accelerate the distribution of aid to affected areas in Gaza. In addition, mental rehabilitation and trauma healing programs for Palestinian children are also a priority so that they can return to a better life after the conflict.
As a concrete form of commitment, the government and humanitarian organizations signed a joint declaration of commitment. This declaration is a symbol of agreement to continue supporting various aid programs for Palestine. The declaration was read by Syamsul Ardiansyah as the Strategic Alliance of Dompet Dhuafa.

In this event, a video was also shown about Indonesia’s assistance plan, covering rehabilitation and reconstruction in Gaza. The video featured narration, infographics, and testimonials from Gazans who have benefited from humanitarian assistance.
The kick-off of this program was attended by various representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, related ministries, philanthropic institutions, humanitarian organizations, and international organizations such as WFP, OCHA, WHO, and ICRC. With this synergy, it is hoped that humanitarian assistance from Indonesia will be more optimal in supporting the recovery of Gaza and providing new hope for the Palestinian people.
Through various initiatives that have been designed, it is hoped that the Indonesian people will become more involved in supporting this humanitarian struggle. Dompet Dhuafa and its partners continue to open up opportunities for the wider community to participate in fundraising and various concrete actions aimed at providing direct assistance to those in need in Palestine.
