“IHA has contributed six tons, including 440 adult blankets, 375 children’s blankets, and 1,000 mattresses from Dompet Dhuafa,” reported Shofa Qudus, General Manager of the Program Disaster Management Center (DMC) Dompet Dhuafa, from the Halim Perdanakusuma Indonesian Air Force Base.

According to a November 20, 2023 report from the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the reported death toll has reached 11,078, including 4,506 children and 3,027 women.

Approximately 2,700 individuals, including around 1,500 children, are reported missing, potentially trapped or deceased under rubble, awaiting rescue or recovery. An additional 27,490 Palestinians have been reported injured.

Over 1.7 million individuals in Gaza are estimated to be internally displaced, with nearly 900,000 refugees residing in at least 154 shelters managed by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

UNRWA shelters are currently overcapacity and unable to accommodate new arrivals.

Preliminary reports suggest thousands of refugees are seeking safety by sleeping against the walls of shelters in the south, in open areas.

The high population density is contributing to the spread of diseases, including acute respiratory infections and diarrhea, leading to environmental and health challenges.

On average, there is one shower unit for every 700 individuals and one toilet for every 150 people. This overcrowding hinders UNRWA’s ability to provide effective and timely services.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who have contributed to supporting the Palestinian people during these challenging times due to Zionist military aggression. We hope this aid will help alleviate their suffering and inspire resilience and hope within the Palestinian community. (Dompet Dhuafa/DMC/AFP)
