ADONARA, EAST FLORES — In addition to the Timor Island region, the Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) 1444 Hijri Dompet Dhuafa in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) is also carried out in the Adonara region, East Flores Islands. Through the Dompet Dhuafa East Nusa Tenggara (DD NTT) branch, the slaughter of sacrificial animals was held in Lamahala Jaya Village, East Adonara District, East Flores Regency.
“Lamahala Jaya Village is the village with the most populous Muslim community in Adonara. Sacrificial beef slaughtered here, in hamlet one, is distributed to as many as 1,300 households spread across 3 islands (Solor, Adonara, Flores), in 9 sub-districts,” said ustaz Muhidur, Dai Dompet Dhuafa Corps Team (Cordofa), as THK Coordinator in Adonara, Saturday (1/7/2023).
Adonara Regency is an archipelago of East Flores Island. A passenger ship crossing the sea from Larantuka takes the journey to get there. Spread to 3 islands (Solor, Adonara, Flores), in 9 sub-districts, it also partly uses speed boats to each island.
“This is also the first time Dompet Dhuafa has sent sacrificial cows to Solor Island. The residents are enthusiastic and certainly happy. This kind of distribution is a challenge for those of us who live in the archipelago,” said Ustaz Muhidir. (Dompet Dhuafa/Dhika Prabowo)
