ACEH —-— Dompet Dhuafa held a coordination meeting for the Aceh post-disaster recovery team in Banda Aceh on Tuesday (01/27/2026). The chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation, Ahmad Juwaini, directly led the agenda for this coordination meeting.
Throughout its work in the field of charity, Dompet Dhuafa continues to strive for change and transformative assistance in all aspects, from physical or infrastructure aspects to non-physical or socio-cultural aspects.
“Dompet Dhuafa will form assistance teams in each sector, especially in social assistance or social engineering for communities in temporary shelters and emergency prayer rooms,” said Ahmad Juwaini.
This coordination meeting aims to accelerate and develop post-disaster recovery strategies in Aceh. By involving various humanitarian, social, educational, and health sectors, Dompet Dhuafa presents a comprehensive recovery program.

Emergency response and disaster recovery efforts in Aceh continue to reach tens of thousands of survivors. As of January 28, 2026, there are a total of 77,095 beneficiaries in Aceh who have received various forms of humanitarian aid distributed gradually and comprehensively by Dompet Dhuafa.
These efforts include victim evacuation, provision of ready-to-eat meals and community kitchens, health services and ambulances, as well as recovery support such as emergency schools, business assistance, and provision of clean water and temporary housing.

Meanwhile, infrastructure support was provided through the renovation of health centers, prayer rooms, emergency toilets, and schools, as well as the establishment of emergency schools in two locations to support medium- and long-term recovery for the affected communities. These services were designed to meet the basic needs, health, protection, and comprehensive recovery of the survivors.

According to Ahmad Juwaini, social assistance is expected to prepare survivors mentally and emotionally to get back on their feet and become independent. This will enable them to achieve a brighter future.
“Physical engineering (infrastructure) and social engineering (community assistance) must be equal. This is the most important thing,” explained Ahmad Juwaini.
This humanitarian action program will reach the districts of Bireuen, Aceh Tamiang, Aceh Tengah, Aceh Timur, Aceh Utara, Bener Meriah, Pidie, and Pidie Jaya, as well as the cities of Langsa, Lhokseumawe, and Subulussalam.
Through this coordination meeting, Dompet Dhuafa aims to accelerate recovery and activate support during the Holy Month of Ramadan. (Dompet Dhuafa)
