JAKARTA -— Dompet Dhuafa strengthened its role as a facilitator of kindness by optimizing collaboration with various communities in the “Spread Kindness, Build Togetherness” event that took place in Ampera, South Jakarta, on Thursday (10/02/2025). Hundreds of community activists from diverse backgrounds attended, marking Dompet Dhuafa’s strategic move to expand the reach and impact of its community empowerment programs.
This “coffee gathering” was attended by several figures, including Etika Setiawanti (Director of Resource Mobilization at Dompet Dhuafa), Ahmad Faqih Syarafaddin (General Manager of ZIS Collection at Dompet Dhuafa), Rinaldi Nur Ibrahim (CEO of Youth Ranger Indonesia), Inara Rusli (Komunitas Teman Searah), and Wawang Sunarya (Beneficiary and Activist of the Disability Community).

Etika Setiawanti emphasized that this agenda aims to encourage various collaborations with communities in various sectors of charity. According to her, the achievement of distribution and empowerment targets for beneficiaries cannot be separated from the vital role of the community as partners.
“We appreciate the community representatives who have attended and continue to support our good cause. We hope that this event will become a platform for the realization of synergy for good and will generate ideas and concepts that are important for the Dompet Dhuafa program and all of us,” said Etika.
She also added the importance of input, suggestions, and ideas from community activists as part of efforts to maintain transparency, accountability, responsibility, independence, and fairness in the management of community funds.

Ahmad Faqih Syarafaddin highlighted the central role of young people as the main drivers of social good and innovation. He revealed that the spirit of collaboration and creative ideas possessed by the younger generation has become increasingly apparent, especially in the critical situation since the Covid-19 pandemic five years ago.
“Now is the time for young people to become drivers of goodness. Many young people are coming up with important ideas and realizing creative ideas,” said Faqih.
He sees the community climate as being shaped by the ability of young people to manage communication, exchange opinions, and express ideas without limits, which are then realized in concrete actions.

This view is in line with that of Rinaldi Nur Ibrahim, who founded Youth Ranger as a forum for youth initiatives. “The positive thing about our community is that it encourages young people to grow and generate positive ideas for society,” explained Rinaldi.
A similar sentiment was expressed by Inara Rusli from the Teman Searah Community, who emphasized that a shared vision and mission are the foundation of her community. “In a community, we can fight together and not feel alone. We support and empower each other,” she said.

Wawang Sunarya, a community activist for people with disabilities, gave a positive testimonial about the impact of collaboration. He hopes that Dompet Dhuafa will continue to improve its collaboration for good, which has helped his community move faster and even achieve economic independence for his fellow people with disabilities, such as establishing motorcycle repair shops, action figure manufacturers, and other businesses.
Dompet Dhuafa reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening collaboration not only with corporate partners, government, media, or NGOs, but also with community leaders, public figures, and communities that share a similar vision.

At the end of the event, community representatives wrote down their ideas, suggestions, impressions, and hopes on a suggestion board that had been provided. They also signed a joint commitment to do good.
Dompet Dhuafa believes that in this challenging era, community synergy is the key to achieving significant progress. Solid collaboration accelerates innovation and optimizes resources, which will ultimately become the driving force for positive social transformation. (Dompet Dhuafa)
