RORI Big Bike Community Invites Care for Honorary Teachers in Remote Areas Together with Dompet Dhuafa

JAKARTA — Launching a survey conducted by the IDEAS Research Institute (Institute for Demographic and Poverty Studies) and GREAT Edunesia Dompet Dhuafa in May 2024, 42 percent of teachers earn less than IDR 2 million / month and 13 percent of them earn less than IDR 500 thousand / month.

“This nominal is still below Indonesia’s lowest 2024 Regency-City Minimum Wage (UMK), namely Banjarnegara Regency with a UMK of IDR 2,038,005. This means that even in areas with the lowest cost of living, teachers, especially honorary teachers, still have to struggle to make ends meet,” said Muhammad Anwar, IDEAS Researcher.

This is the basis of a good synergy for Dompet Dhuafa, which has the opportunity to accompany a large motorcycle community based in Jakarta, RORI (Royal Riders Indonesia). RORI also initiated an invitation to care for honorary teachers in remote areas of the country whose conditions are still not prosperous. This good initiative is an actualization of togetherness and mutual support between communities in several activities during RORI’s one year anniversary in 2024.

With the theme “Tribute to Communities”, RORI held its 8th anniversary event at Cibis Park, South Jakarta, on Saturday (07/27/2024). RORI also invited 40 motorcycle communities who will be given RORI’s Tibute to Communitie plaque as a form of togetherness and appreciation to other motorcycle communities in Indonesia.

On this anniversary, RORI interpreted the number eight as a continuous number and Jakarta as the “Mother Chapter” as a starting point to raise RORI through more beneficial activities for the community. This is in line with RORI’s vision, which is to serve as a gathering place for Royal Enfield motorcycle users in Indonesia and to make a positive contribution to the environment, especially the large motorcycle user community in Indonesia.

“For a long time, we have been moving and crossing all parts of Indonesia, this time inviting awareness for honorary teachers with Dompet Dhuafa. Several charity programs as a form of social awareness have also been carried out by raising support not only from internal members but also from other communities and organizations. This was also done by RORI Chapter Jakarta in June 2024, which carried out a charity program for the West Sumatra galodo (flash flood) disaster,” said Adnan Maddanatja as RORI President for the 2022-2024 period.

He also said, “Consistent with its vision to make a positive contribution to the environment, especially the large motorcycle user community in Indonesia, RORI will continue to be a barometer of motorcycle communities that are wise in driving and beneficial to society by involving all communities and related institutions.”

Supporting this collaboration, Dimas Muttakhin as Dompet Dhuafa’s Community Relations Specialist said, that Dompet Dhuafa also facilitates ambulances and Dompet Dhuafa’s Emergency Health Response (RDK) health services. This is important for emergency preparedness if there are participants who need health assistance during the event.

“Alhamdulillah, this time Dompet Dhuafa has the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from RORI, hopefully this collaborative activity will add more blessings to the eighth anniversary of Royal Riders Indonesia. Hopefully this collaboration service with Dompet Dhuafa can facilitate the social needs of RORI colleagues. Continued success for RORI, hopefully it will be more beneficial for members, other communities and also the people of Indonesia,” Dimas said. (Dompet Dhuafa)
