BANDUNG —-— Dompet Dhuafa, through its West Java Branch and Disaster Management Center (DMC), responded quickly to the flash floods and landslides that hit Kampung Babakan RW 10 and 11, Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua District, West Bandung Regency, West Java, on Saturday (01/24/2026). The response included setting up a Warm Post, putting ambulances on standby, and supporting search and rescue operations for victims.
Based on preliminary reports, at least 34 families or 137 people have taken refuge in the hall and terrace of the Pasirlangu Village Office. In addition, 23 residents have been successfully evacuated and are currently undergoing medical treatment at the health center and Cibabat Regional General Hospital.
As of Saturday (02/24) afternoon, eight victims have been found, six of whom have been identified, while 82 others are still missing and presumed buried under the landslide debris. The West Bandung Regency Government has declared a disaster emergency response status.

Since the disaster occurred, the West Java Branch of Dompet Dhuafa’s Response Team has been coordinating intensively with the West Bandung Regency Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). One of the quick actions taken was to set up a Warm Post service at the Pasirlangu Village Office, which has served 175 beneficiaries, including survivors, volunteers, and joint officers.
“In addition to the Warm Post, Dompet Dhuafa West Java has also set up platoon tents for refugees, assisted in the distribution of logistics from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), prepared bedding and blankets, and mobilized Barzah ambulances for medical evacuation and body disposal needs,” said the Head of the West Java Branch of Dompet Dhuafa, Yogi Achmad Fajar, when contacted on Sunday (01/25/2026).
Dompet Dhuafa assessed that the urgent needs at the disaster site included blankets, mats, ready-to-drink water, ready-to-eat food, new daily clothing, basic hygiene kits, emergency sanitation, and clean water. In addition, psychosocial services were also needed to assist survivors, especially the families of victims and children.

On Sunday (01/25/2026) afternoon, Dompet Dhuafa planned a number of follow-up steps, including assessment and data analysis, activation of the DMC Post, coordination with Basarnas Bandung, opening of Warm Posts at two points—Pasirlangu Village Office and the disaster location—as well as active involvement in joint search and rescue operations for victims who are still missing.
However, the on-site response process faces several challenges, including heavy rainfall and narrow, winding roads leading to the disaster site, which could hinder the mobility of aid vehicles.
Dompet Dhuafa stated that it will continue to collaborate with local governments, BPBD, Basarnas, and other volunteer groups to ensure that the search for victims and the fulfillment of survivors’ basic needs can proceed optimally amid the emergency situation. (Dompet Dhuafa)
