TASIKMALAYA, WEST JAVA —-— Free Health Services (LKC), the West Java branch of Dompet Dhuafa, received an award from the Kawalu Community Health Center (UPTD Puskesmas), Tasikmalaya, on Monday (March 23, 2026). The award was presented directly by the Head of the Kawalu Community Health Center (UPTD Puskesmas), Dr. Budy Nugraha, MM.Kes, to the Head of LKC West Java, Filly Muharani, in Karsamenak Village, Kawalu, Tasikmalaya.
This award was given in recognition of Dompet Dhuafa’s contributions and collaboration with stakeholders in the Healthy Sanitation Village (Sehati) Program in Karsamenak. This serves as a form of appreciation for LKC’s commitment to implementing environmental health interventions, particularly in improving access to adequate sanitation, as well as accelerating the Stop Open Defecation (BABS) Program.
From July to December 2025, LKC Dompet Dhuafa has distributed construction grants for 96 units of Healthy Toilets to 96 households (KK) in Karsamenak Village. This program is designed as a strategic step to reinforce behavioral changes toward clean and healthy living while reducing the risk of environment-based diseases.
Budy Nugraha, Head of the Kawalu Community Health Center, expressed his appreciation for Dompet Dhuafa’s contributions in his area of responsibility.

“We extend our deepest gratitude to LKC Dompet Dhuafa West Java for its support and contribution to the Kampung Sehati Program through the provision of 96 Healthy Toilets in Karsamenak Village in 2025. This assistance represents a concrete step toward improving access to adequate sanitation for the community, as well as supporting the acceleration of the Open Defecation Elimination (ODE) initiative and enhancing public health standards. “May this collaboration continue and provide sustainable benefits,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of LKC Dompet Dhuafa West Java, Filly Muharani, emphasized that this achievement is the result of synergy among various parties in bringing about change that directly impacts the community.

“This award is proof that cross-sectoral collaboration between social organizations, the government, and the community can bring about significant improvements in public health. Interventions to ensure access to proper sanitation and accelerate the Stop Open Defecation campaign are part of our commitment to strengthening environmental health in a sustainable manner,” said Filly Muharani.
This collaboration also underscores the importance of an integrated approach in community-based health development. With continued support from various parties, the proper sanitation program is expected to accelerate the realization of a healthier, safer, and more dignified environment for all residents.
