JAKARTA —-— Dompet Dhuafa officially released an additional 60 tons of humanitarian aid for survivors of flash floods and landslides in Sumatra on Friday, December 5, 2025. The aid, consisting of 37.85 tons of rice, 10.8 tons of cooking oil, 4.5 tons of granulated sugar, and 6.5 tons of wheat flour, will be directly delivered to disaster-affected areas in Sumatra.
The humanitarian aid distribution took place at the PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya Warehouse Area in East Jakarta, as a form of collaboration with partners and the wider community who entrusted their donations to Dompet Dhuafa.



This aid is expected to arrive at Belawan Port in the next three to four days, after which it will be distributed to disaster-affected areas in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra. Currently, Dompet Dhuafa, through its Disaster Management Center (DMC) humanitarian team and branch offices in the Sumatra region, has been on the ground and has been helping the affected communities since the first day of the flash floods and landslides. To date, Dompet Dhuafa continues to struggle to reach areas that are difficult to access in order to help the communities there.
Dompet Dhuafa is raising awareness for the Indonesian people who are currently facing deep sorrow. The floods and landslides are known to have caused thousands of residents to be displaced, lose their homes, and suffer injuries and trauma.
As a rapid response, Dompet Dhuafa has distributed humanitarian aid to 34,078 beneficiaries as of December 4, 2025, in the three provinces. The assistance provided includes evacuation of victims, distribution of food supplies, public kitchen services, warm shelters, health services, WiFi access points, and trauma healing support for children.

In releasing the humanitarian aid, the Chairman of Dompet Dhuafa, Ahmad Juwaini, said, “Thank you to all partners and donors who have contributed and entrusted their donations to Dompet Dhuafa. May Dompet Dhuafa be able to carry out its mandate as well as possible.”
The ceremony was also attended by Dr. Saleh Partaonan Daulay, M.Ag, M.Hum, M.A., Chairman of Commission VII of the Indonesian House of Representatives. On this occasion, he said, “I appreciate what Dompet Dhuafa has done, and hopefully other institutions will follow suit. Because I believe that what Dompet Dhuafa has done is on the right track. Dompet Dhuafa has done a good job, and hopefully this can be continued for future achievements and Dompet Dhuafa will become even more trusted.”

The symbolic handover of humanitarian aid was also witnessed by representatives of Dompet Dhuafa’s partners and donors, which was then followed by the departure of a fleet carrying 60 tons of humanitarian supplies.
This aid is expected to ease the grief and burden of the Sumatra disaster survivors. In addition to providing logistical support, Dompet Dhuafa also continues to mobilize volunteers, medical personnel, and rapid response teams who have been working directly in the affected areas since the initial emergency phase until the recovery period.
Dompet Dhuafa extends its gratitude to all donors, partners, and the community who continue to support various humanitarian programs. This synergy of kindness serves as proof that social solidarity remains a powerful force for the Indonesian nation.
