BOGOR, WEST JAVA – On Thursday (6/2/2025), in the Zona Madina area, Parung, Bogor, Dompet Dhuafa publicly announced the target of collecting donations for Ramadan 1446 H, which amounted to IDR 141.8 billion. Although this has only been conveyed internally within the Insan and Program Implementing Partners (MPP), this figure can be said to be certain.
Officially, it will be delivered through a Press Conference (presscon) on February 20, 2025. This presscon will not only be held in Jakarta, but all branches in Indonesia will conduct presscon simultaneously. Before that, there will also be a joyous event to welcome the arrival of Ramadan 1446 H at the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) Softball Field, Jakarta, on February 8, 2025. The event at GBK aims to invite and serve as a reminder that Ramadan is just around the corner. So let’s prepare ourselves, heart, soul, and body, so that later when undergoing activities in the month of Ramadan feels more enjoyable and blessed.
Some of you may ask, why does Dompet Dhuafa seem to be so excited about the target? How come, every time entering the month of Ramadan, always targeted with numbers. And the numbers are not small either.
For example, the previous year (2024) alone Dompet Dhuafa managed to raise as much as IDR 124 billion. When compared to 2023, this number of achievements increased by 9.7 percent. Then, the 2023 achievement compared to 2022, there was an increase of 11.9 percent. So, yes, the achievements from year to year continue to increase. Hence, in 2025, Dompet Dhuafa is targeting an increase of 14 percent, from Rp124 billion to Rp141.8 billion. Quite a high increase in the target. If in a business company that prioritizes profit, maybe this can be referred to as Target Costing, which is a method of determining the cost of a product or service based on the target at which customers are willing to pay for it.
Dr. Indriarto Faishal MA as Cordofa’s Dai Ambassador who is also an ASN of the Indonesian Ministry of Religion, was surprised by this figure. How dare a zakat institution set a big target, up to 14 percent? Even profit companies only increase their target to 11 percent.

In the past, he had been a Dompet Dhuafa Dai Ambassador several times who was entrusted with the mandate to preach abroad. Back to the context of the collection target. Because Dompet Dhuafa is a nonprofit organization, it cannot be equated. But in terms of targets, professional steps may be applied. So, why is Dompet Dhuafa so eager to achieve this huge target?
In fact, the figure of Rp141.8 billion is very small, friends. It is still very far compared to the potential of zakat, which nationally reaches Rp327 trillion per year. This figure is the latest figure released by BAZNAS at the end of 2024. So yes, Rp141.8 billion from Rp327 trillion is only 0.04 percent. In fact, this should be a trigger for other zakat institutions to step up their campaign in inviting people to pay zakat.
Because, for example, if the potential of zakat in Indonesia is really achieved, the community will be much more prosperous. Moreover, nowadays, many zakat institutions have implemented productive zakat management. One of them is Dompet Dhuafa.
So, the amount of collection targeted by Dompet Dhuafa, of course, is solely to expand the benefits of zakat, so that more people are helped and their lives are prosperous. From the target of Rp141.8 billion in Ramadan 1446 H, Dompet Dhuafa has projected many programs that will reach 500,000 beneficiaries. Programs that have been planned include the Da’wah Across Borders Program, Ramadan in Palestine, Glorifying Orphans, SEKAR, Family Friendly Mudik Post, Blessing Market, and many more.
