EMT Rolls Out Health Services at Outdoor Hospitals for Turkey Earthquake Survivors

HATAY, TURKEY — Joining Indonesia’s Emergency Medical Team (EMT), Dompet Dhuafa helped accelerate health care for Turkish earthquake survivors. Dompet Dhuafa’s Free Health Service Health Emergency Response Team (RDK), dr.  Aqila and dr. Rosmalia, has been serving as a medical team at the Field Hospital established by the Ministry of Health and several other institutions since Thursday (16/2/2023).

Yes, together with EMT Indonesia, the Dompet Dhuafa team held medical service assistance at the hospital. The Indonesian EMT field is in Hassa District, Hatay Province. Survivors suffer from colic renal, heart attacks, basalioma tumors, dyspepsia, and vertigo.

 “The team also coordinates with residents and nutritionists from EMT Indonesia for the nutritional intake of inpatients. The Dompet Dhuafa team oversees the inpatient department and resuscitation room,” explained dr. Zainab Aqila, as the Dompet Dhuafa RDK team reported from the location Tuesday (21/2/2023).

In addition, the Public Kitchen will also reopen with a target of 10,000 servings. Previously, Dompet Dhuafa had intensified the service of the Public Kitchen but stopped due to constraints on the willingness of food supply.

 “Supplies of ingredients are hard to come by, so we first stop at the soup kitchen. Tomorrow, Insya Allah, a Public Kitchen will be held again with a target of 10,000 portions,” continued Narwan, Manager of Response & Recovery of DMC (Disaster Management Center) Dompet Dhuafa in Turkey.

Aljazeera said more than 47,000 people died from the earthquake that hit the Turkey-Syria region. In Turkey, there were 41,156 deaths, while Syria had 6,000 deaths. It is also estimated that 385,000 apartments were destroyed.
