Excited to Welcome Ramadan, Dompet Dhuafa Together with Tangerang Residents Holds Mosque Clean-Up Action

TANGERANG — Ramadan 1445 AH arrived with joy for all Muslims around the world. Various activities were held to strengthen the sincerity of worship. Including, efforts to clean places of worship such as mosques and musala, which are wrapped in the Mosque Clean-Up Action.

The activity was initiated by the Dompet Dhuafa Community Service Institute (LPM). Not only in one or two places of worship, LPM held a Mosque Clean-Up Action at a number of points in Jakarta, Bogor, Tangerang and Bekasi, on 27-28 February and 2-3 March 2024. In this activity, the local community is invited to work together to clean every corner of the mosque or musala, creating a cleaner and more comfortable environment for worship.

Moh. Noor Awaluddin Asjhar, Head of LPM Dompet Dhuafa, said that the Mosque Clean-Up Action is a routine activity held every year before Ramadan.

‘This year we are targeting mosques or musala that are located in the community and are more active in inviting the local community to work together in preparing for Ramadan to the fullest. The mosque or musala is the centre of the community’s worship activities. Therefore, we need to maintain and take good care of them,’ he said.

One of the mosque clean-up actions was carried out at the Mambaul Karomah Mosque, Pulo Cangkir, Kronjo, Tangerang. A total of 15 residents participated in cleaning the mosque area, including inside and outside areas, such as the yard, terrace, floor, walls, ceiling, bathroom, ablution place, and painting the mosque walls.

Dedi Hartono as the representative of DKM Masjid Mambaul Karomah welcomed this activity. This mosque is a place used by the people of Pulau Cangkir and also pilgrims, because there is a tomb of Sheikh Waliyuddin who was a great scholar in Banten.

‘We are grateful for this mosque cleaning activity. This mosque is a place used by the people of Pulau Cangkir and also the pilgrims of the waliyullah Prince Jaga Lautan Pulau Cangkir,’ he said after helping to clean the mosque.

LPM has also organised a Mosque Clean-Up Action at several locations, including Musala An-Nur in Bogor.

Previously, the LPM had also held a Mosque Clean-Up Action at several points, namely at Musala Nurull Hikmah West Jakarta, Musala An-Nur Bogor, Al-Akhyar Mosque Jakasampurna Bekasi, and finally at Musala Al-Hikmah, South Jakarta. (Dompet Dhuafa/LPM)
