JAKARTA — The blessings of Ramadan continue to flow in various forms. One of them is through Shopping with Orphans (BBY) which came from the collaboration of BTS ARMY Indonesia, Marc Klok Foundation, and Dompet Dhuafa, on Saturday (22/03/2025). Taking place at Lotte Mart Kuningan City, South Jakarta, orphans gathered to shop with BTS ARMY Indonesia.
That afternoon, as many as 70 children shopped for their Ramadan needs and preparations for Eid al-Fitr 1446 H. They were seen running around and starting to pick up a variety of food and other necessities. One of them was Nafisah (8), who was shopping for lots of stationery for her school needs.
“Yes, (stationery) for school. I don’t have any coloring tools yet. I’ll buy some now. I also went with the ARMY brothers and sisters to look at prayer mats. I bought a prayer mat too, for Eid prayers later,” said Nafisah.

The Head of the 1446 H Ramadan Program at Dompet Dhuafa, Rina Fatimah, said that this collaboration is one of a series of other Honor the Orphans programs.
She hopes that this activity can increase the awareness of other community groups to join hands in sharing blessings with those in need.
“In this Ramadan, there have been a series of activities to share blessings with orphans. Starting from breaking the fast together, donations, to shopping together like today. Hopefully, these activities can bring happiness to the orphans and meet their needs ahead of Eid,” said Rina.
Continuing Rina, the BTS ARMY Indonesia representative from Pintu Ajaib, Avy said that the motivation for this collaboration of kindness was none other than a moment to collectively reflect on the meaning of kindness. According to him, acts of kindness cannot suddenly come from a group. Before that, kindness must exist in each individual first.
Avy mentioned that this is the second year that his community has collaborated with Dompet Dhuafa. Previously, BTS ARMY Indonesia and Dompet Dhuafa participated in echoing the solidarity action for the victims of the Sukabumi disaster, the victims of the Palestinian genocide. This Ramadan they flocked to share blessings through sharing takjil and BBY.

“This is the first time we have shopped together with the orphans. It’s quite exciting, because we can interact directly and chat. Apart from having the same hobbies and love for something, I hope BTS ARMY Indonesia can be a forum for spreading kindness. It can be a place to share love and kindness towards others,” said Avy.
One of the beneficiaries, Amizan (9), was visibly overjoyed. Carrying a bag full of groceries, he listed the food he had bought one by one. Amizan said that while shopping he remembered his father’s favorite fruit, which was melon, as his father was suffering from a stroke.
“I bought food for Eid. Then I also bought melon. I remember Dad, who was suffering from a stroke at home. I usually peel the melon. Because Mom works, so I help take care of Dad at home,” said Amizan.

In addition to shopping for free, they also received donations and food packages to take home. As the sun set, an atmosphere of togetherness was visible as the children broke their fast with friends from BTS ARMY Indonesia.
