Faciliting Musholla for Jakarta Marathon Runners 2022

JAKARTA — Jakarta Marathon was held again on Sunday (10/16/2022) in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Senayan, Jakarta, after a 2 (two)-year absence. After the covid-19 pandemic ended, it turned out that the excitement and crowds at this running athletics event did not subside. More than 15,300 participants alternated with each other ahead to reach the finish line. Not a few are willing to arrive at GBK since the early hours of the morning before dawn comes.

To provide comfort to these runners in worship, especially Muslims to carry out the obligation of dawn prayers, Dompet Dhuafa as the official charity partner of the Jakarta Marathon 2022 established 2 (two) Musholla tents. Each Musholla measuring 10×10 meters are used to separate between men and women. Other facilities include the provision of wudu water, sandals, prayer mats, sarongs, and mukena.

Dompet Dhuafa Brand Activation Officer Dandy Esviansyah Fathoni said, Dompet Dhuafa hopes that with this Musholla facility, runners will not have to struggle to find places of worship, especially dawn prayers. This is especially useful for those whose homes are far away and who have to leave early. The location is also quite strategic because it is close to the entrance gate.

“We are certainly very happy to have this good opportunity to provide comfortable places of worship facilities for the runners of the Jakarta Marathon 2022. Hopefully, this good collaboration with the Jakarta Marathon can continue to be established and provide more benefits,” he said.

Besides providing prayer rooms, Dompet Dhuafa also opened a donation booth in the Race Pack Collection JakMar Expo area next to the Plaza Barat GBK. Dompet Dhuafa invites runners and the general public to be involved in humanitarian actions, especially the victims of flood disasters that hit a number of regions in Indonesia.
