DMC together with the joint response team conducted a basic needs assessment of the impact of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Male in NTT, Wednesday (06/11/2024).

In the first eruption, the height of the ash column was observed at approximately 1,100 m above the summit or around 2,684 meters above sea level. In the second eruption, the ash column was observed at approximately 1,500m above the summit or around 3,084m above sea level.

The above conditions made many layers of society increasingly moved, working together to provide support to the survivors affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki. Like the kind support that comes from health students, FiKes UIN Syarif Hidayatullah, Jakarta.

Ade Ajeng Fauziah, as treasurer of FDT UIN Jakarta, expressed her appreciation to Dompet Dhuafa for facilitating the distribution of these funds. She also appreciated the concern of FiKes students in easing the burden on the survivors.

“I would like to thank kak Nuriyah and Dompet Dhuafa for facilitating us in channeling the aid that we have collected on Dompet Dhuafa’s jadibaik.org channel. Thank you also to friends who have helped victims of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki, hopefully your kindness will be rewarded with blessings and can become amal jariyah,” said Ade.

Nuriyah, as Dompet Dhuafa’s School Relation Officer, expressed her gratitude for the contribution of health students who are aware of caring for others.

“Today I learned a lot from all my friends, you sacrifice your time and energy for this positive activity. On the sidelines of your busy schedule, you still think about our brothers and sisters affected by the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki. Hopefully what you have done will be a positive example to invite other students to do good,” said Nuriyah.

The collaboration between FDT UIN Jakarta and Dompet Dhuafa this time is not the first time, previously through the soibaik.org channel, FDT UIN Jakarta also provided assistance to earthquake survivors who hit Bandung Regency, West Java. (Dompet Dhuafa)
