BANDUNG — Indonesia has designated July 23 as Hari Anak Nasional (National Children’s Day). This momentum needs to become a point where society realizes that every child has the right to care, education, and a good life, fulfillment of rights and protection.
Children need direction in order to grow up healthy and safely with their rights fulfilled, whether it is custody, health rights, education and recreation rights or the right to protection. But in fact, not a few children still do not get those rights. Especially for those who have lost their parents.
“Indeed this must be a concern as well as an evaluation, especially for parents and all elements of society to help provide or fulfill the rights of these children,” said Andriansyah, Branch Head of Dompet Dhuafa Jawa Barat.

For this reason, on the momentum of National Children’s Day, Dompet Dhuafa West Java together with the West Java Dompet Dhuafa Volunteer volunteer community shared happiness with orphans in order to support the fulfillment of education and recreation rights.
Dompet Dhuafa West Java carried out an Edutrip with Orphans activity with the theme of “Recreation While Learning with Great Children,” inviting 90 orphans from 3 regions, namely Bandung, Tasikmalaya, and Cirebon. DD Volunteer also participated in enlivening this activity filled with recreation and education. Edutrip with Orphans was held in three places, including Lembang Park Zoo, Woodland Kuningan Regency, and Pasir Pataya Tasikmalaya.
Heading to the recreation area, the children arrived by taking a tour car. They were introduced to iconic cars typical of Bandung, Tasikmalaya, and Cirebon. From this Edutrip with Orphans activity, it is hoped that the children will be able to explore nature, both the flora and the fauna, so that they can build gratitude for His greatness.

Not only recreation, the orphans were also given useful education, motivation, and games that were packaged interestingly, so that they added a sense of enthusiasm and cheerfulness.
The person in charge of the West Java Dompet Dhuafa Education and Da’wah Program, Anjar Galih Hadiansyah explained that this activity is a commitment of Dompet Dhuafa West Java to always glorify orphans in Indonesia, especially in the West Java region.
“Children are trust, the greatest gift from Allah that must be guarded especially about spirituality, strengthening monotheism and becoming human beings who can uphold their religion and be useful for society. Children need direction in order to grow up healthy and safely with the fulfillment of their rights. Today, Dompet Dhuafa West Java and DD Volunteer West Java invite children to travel as well as learn at the same time,” said Anjar when giving a speech.
At the end of the activity, the children were given gifts as a form of reward and motivation to continue to be enthusiastic in learning and achieving their goals. Happy smiles radiated from them. As if to suggest that the loss of a loved one is not the end of everything, nor is our happiness taken away by God. However, the loss is God’s way of educating His servants to learn to sincerely accept all the destiny that is His decree, because in the end, all that is created will return to the Creator.
