Getting to Know Indonesia in Close up, Dompet Dhuafa Invites Children For Peace Participants on A National Site Tour

JAKARTA — In a series of Children For Peace program events with the theme “Orphans and World Peace,” the Community Servants Institute (LPM) Dompet Dhuafa invited 41 orphan participants to tour the city of Jakarta, Tuesday (11/10/2022). For a whole day, the children from various parts of the archipelago visited various educational sites in the center of Indonesia.

Children For Peace is a program that brings together outstanding orphans from various regions in Indonesia. For 5 (five) days, Monday-Friday (10-14/10/2022), they are given the opportunity to appear in the international arena through various forms of activities. Hopefully, these children will be able to contribute to voicing world peace from childhood.

One of the city tour destinations is the National Monument (Monas)

The chief executive of the Children For Peace event, Hari Agung, explained that this city tour series is a form of education for children to get to know Indonesia more closely. The main destination site is the National Monument (Monas). The 132-meter-high Indonesian landmark presents a complete Indonesian history along with historical objects such as heritage flags and original proclamation manuscripts.

“Dompet Dhuafa invites orphans participating in Children For Peace to get to know Indonesia through educational sites. One of them is Monas,” he said.

As the theme is about world peace, it is certain that the orphans who are participants in this event are those who have the ability to speak foreign languages, at least English. The committee and the performers also interacted, delivered materials, and inserted world peace content in foreign languages because this program has a big target aiming for the world.

In one of the dioramas at the National Struggle History Museum in Monas, one of the Founding Fathers, Ir. Soekarno was reading the manuscript of Indonesian independence proclamation.

Afterward, these children will be monitored and invited to write a small letter about world peace. These letters will later be addressed to world leaders, especially those currently involved in world war conflicts. With hope, world leaders are aware that everyone has a hope to live in harmony and peace, even those who are still kids.
