NORTH AFRICA —-— As the second day of intensive training in North Africa began on Sunday (May 10, 2026), the global spirit of humanitarian solidarity for Gaza continued to grow stronger. Dompet Dhuafa, a philanthropic organization in Indonesia, has also officially joined the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) mission.

Dompet Dhuafa’s presence at the forefront of this land convoy carries a significant mission to represent the aspirations of the Indonesian people, who consistently support the freedom and humanitarian aid for the people of Gaza.

Technical Briefing and Team Assignment

On the second day of training, the Indonesian delegates, along with hundreds of other international volunteers, began focusing on strategic team assignments. Each person was assigned to a vital role—such as aid logistics, medical management, and media documentation—to ensure this convoy, traveling from Algeria, remains organized with high safety standards.

Survival Training and Camp Simulations

Given that the land route to be traveled features challenging terrain, volunteers received training in survival skills. This training covered coping with extreme weather, food rationing, and cross-border security protocols.

In addition to theory, participants immediately engaged in camp simulation exercises. These exercises included:

  1. The ability to quickly set up tents in open terrain
Procedures for inter-group coordination at night in the campsite. Logistics management simulations under emergency conditions.
  2. Representing Indonesia’s Voice
Dompet Dhuafa’s active involvement in this Land Convoy is a tangible manifestation of the full support of the Indonesian people. The volunteers stated that this journey is not merely about delivering physical aid, but a symbol that the Indonesian people remain by Gaza’s side until humanitarian goals are achieved.

“Our presence here is to ensure that the trust placed in us by the Indonesian people reaches those in need. We are learning to be united and resilient in the field alongside colleagues from other countries to overcome the challenges ahead,” said one volunteer representative at the training site.

Although the team is currently still in the training and administrative preparation phase in North Africa, the morale of these humanitarian warriors remains high as they prepare to continue their journey overland toward the border. (Dompet Dhuafa)
