JAKARTA —— This year’s Eid al-Adha celebrations felt different, especially for beneficiaries in Lampung, East Java, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), and Aceh. That’s because, on this Eid al-Adha of 1447 AH, Dompet Dhuafa was entrusted with the task of slaughtering 24 goats and three cows at the four locations mentioned above.

This collaboration originated from the mudhohi of Masjid Jenderal Sudirman, who made a qurbani sacrifice through Dompet Dhuafa’s Tebar Hewan Kurban (THK) 1447 H program. Alhamdulillah, a total of 378 beneficiaries were able to receive qurbani meat, but more than that, they were also able to celebrate Eid al-Adha thanks to the compassion of the Indonesian people—particularly Masjid Jenderal Sudirman—toward those in need.
Dompet Dhuafa’s THK 1447 program targets communities in remote areas to bring them the joy of Eid al-Adha. In the process of delivering the meat and knocking on people’s doors, various efforts were required to reach these communities.

The THK 1447 H program not only reaches remote areas but also targets regions inhabited by new converts to Islam. The selection of Merdeka Village, Manusuk, Kupang, NTT, was not without reason. This area is home to many families from the former East Timor.
“Alhamdulillah, we are grateful for the aid provided by the Muslim community. This has greatly helped us celebrate Eid al-Adha. May the donors never stop sharing with us, and may their acts of charity be accepted by Allah SWT,” said Kasim Dosantos, one of the beneficiaries in Kupang, NTT.

Meanwhile, in East Lampung Regency—specifically in Margahayu Hamlet, Labuhan Ratu Tujuh, Way Kambas, which is a two-hour flight from Bandar Lampung followed by a land journey—the Eid al-Adha celebrations were particularly vibrant on the first day of Tasyrik, Thursday, May 28, 2026.
Before the event began, the community had already gathered in the backyard of a small mosque. Margahayu Hamlet is known for its close-knit community, whose members always work together when there is a communal task. The women could be seen getting ready in front of the stove, some of them preparing large pots and pans, while the men were also getting ready.

Some people were getting ready in the meat-chopping area, while others were standing in the corner where the slaughtered animals were being skinned; ropes had also been set up to hang the animals later. Pits to collect the blood from the sacrificial animals had also been prepared.
“Alhamdulillah, ma’am. Here, everyone usually works together. Alhamdulillah, everyone is looking forward to this sacrifice because it only happens once a year, right? Thank you, ma’am, for delivering the sacrificial animals to us. Insha’Allah, everyone here will be happy,” said Siti Nur Halimah, one of the cooks in Margahayu Hamlet.

That joy was also felt in Merak Hamlet, Banyuputih Subdistrict, Situbondo—under the light of a streetlamp in an area that had just gained access to electricity. Dompet Dhuafa is fully committed to ensuring that aid reaches the areas that truly need it.
Because the homes are quite far apart, the distribution process had to continue through the darkness of the night. Traveling by motorcycle and on foot, the field team and local residents kept moving until the next morning to ensure that packages of sacrificial meat reached every household—residents who rarely have the opportunity to enjoy animal protein.

“Yes, thank you—the people here are happy that Dompet Dhuafa is here. Yes, hopefully we can come back here again next year,” said one of the beneficiaries, smiling gratefully as he received a package of sacrificial meat.
Dompet Dhuafa also appreciates the collaboration established with the Jenderal Sudirman Mosque. This collaboration is also a manifestation of the Jenderal Sudirman Mosque’s commitment to embracing the community, including those who may still be living in fear. None of us will ever forget the event that devastated Sumatra at the end of 2025—the hydrometeorological disaster that struck Aceh.

Specifically in the village of Cempeudak, Tanah Jambo Aye, North Aceh, which was hit by flash floods and landslides that caused severe damage to residents’ homes and infrastructure. The disaster caused the river to swell and rush violently, sweeping away dozens of homes, damaging facilities, and devastating the local agriculture and livestock sectors.
Alhamdulillah, this aid has reached those in need. Of course, Dompet Dhuafa hopes that its partnership with the Jenderal Sudirman Mosque will not end here.

May Dompet Dhuafa be able to maintain this collaboration for years to come, so that the vision of spreading goodness for the benefit of the community can continue to be realized. This includes during Eid al-Adha and other collaborative programs that will be carried out. (Dompet Dhuafa)
