JAKARTA — The approach of the final week of Ramadan 1446 H has not dampened the intentions and acts of kindness of various community groups. This was demonstrated through the Shopping with Orphans activity by Dompet Dhuafa together with the Marc Klok Foundation and BTS ARMY Indonesia on Saturday (22/03/2025).
A carefree situation was depicted on the faces of 75 orphans who had gathered at the Lotte Mart Kuningan City shopping center, South Jakarta, to shop for free Ramadan and Eid preparations.
Also present was the founder of the Marc Klok Foundation, Marc Klok—an Indonesian national team soccer player—who showed his concern by establishing a foundation focused on the actualization of the talents and interests of Indonesian children.

While shopping together, Marc Klok shared an inspiring story with the children present. According to him, all children in the world have the right to pursue activities related to their hobbies, including orphans. Together with Dompet Dhuafa, he wants to collaborate more to provide facilities for children, especially orphans, to continue working and developing.
“I’ve always loved football, I’ve pursued it. I hope the orphans feel the same way. I hope this collaboration with Dompet Dhuafa can continue so that we can build a soccer field for Indonesian children. Give them the facilities they need to pursue their dreams with what we have at the moment,” Marc Klok said enthusiastically.
In line with Marc Klok, Chief Executive of the Program Ramadan 1446 H Dompet Dhuafa, Rina Fatimah also conveyed an invitation to honor orphans. Apart from Shopping with Orphans, this Ramadan Dompet Dhuafa also initiated the Smile of Orphan Talents which is a non-academic scholarship for orphans. Each child has different talents and interests, not only in the academic field, he emphasized.
“Alhamdulillah, today we have held a Shopping with Orphans (BBY) event with Marc Klok. Dompet Dhuafa and the Marc Klok Foundation have the same goal, which is to honor orphans. After this BBY, we will collaborate to support the development of non-academic talents and interests of orphans. Maybe through the Smile of Orphan Talents, in the arts or sports,” said Rina.
One of the beneficiaries, Denis (10), said he was very happy to be able to shop with Marc Klok. He bought food, clothes and prayer tools for Eid preparations with his family.
“Wow, I’m so happy to be able to shop with Marc Klok. At first I just got snacks. Then Marc Klok asked me to get clothes for Eid too. So I bought new clothes. I also bought a mukena for my mom at home,” said Denis cheerfully.

The excitement of the moment ended when it was time to break the fast. At the end, Marc Klok advised the community to commit and join hands to create equal access and opportunities for orphans.
“Earlier we went shopping together, buying food and clothes for them. In between, we shared stories. Building positive things for them. I am happy and grateful to be able to shop with them. Thank you Dompet Dhuafa for the opportunity,” he concluded.
